Reached my goal?

AHi,
So im new to this site and not exactly sure what im looking for,
I was always overweight and had just about every issue that comes with it.
My whole family had weight problems and it was a constant topic at our house, my mother eventually had weightloss surgury and lost over 200 lbs. I was happy for her but hated hearing about diets all the time, when i moved out on my own i gained even more because i didnt feel like i was being watched all the time anymore, i was an adult and i could do whatever i wanted. Then in 2007 my father passed away at 51 and 500 lbs, i was crushed, he was my bestfriend and an amazing dad and then he was just gone and i had nver thought about losing him. I was 19 just over five feet and 245lbs. I decided the best thing to do in memory of my dad was to not end up like him, it took me two years but i lost 130lbs by counting calories, portion sizes and walking everyday and i.ve maintained my new weight for 10 months.
Im pretty happy with the weightloss, im much healthier and things are alot easier for me to do now, but im having trouble accepting what i look like i guess, people dont recognize me and most of the time i dont even recognise myself. I still feel like the "before" me. So i guess im just wondering if anyone else has reached their goal and just not felt right after.

Self image is a stubborn mule, at much as your eyes tell you a new truth, your mind is used to it's old self.

changing your mind takes a rather different effort to changing your body, but it can be done with a little patience.

Put a photograph of your old self next to a mirror you use every day, look in lots of mirrors to reinforce your new image.

Take up activities you would have dismissed previously due to weight or fitness

If they work for you, try positive affirmations.

My condolences for your loss and congratulations for your achievements.

Hey Smash, welcome! Have you taken a look at the "Before & After" Section - http://weight-loss.fitness.com/f/26/before-after-and-in-between? Or the weight loss diary section - http://weight-loss.fitness.com/f/9/weight-loss-diary?

You might just find some people who have gone through something similar :)
