Quick Question about weight training

Well I am 15 years old and am in grade 10 and I am taking weight training in school so for that I work out about 5 days a week but some people say that you still need to work out at home so if I am working out for the 5 days at school that would mean I do not need to work out at home?

Weight training 5 times a week is plenty.
If your new to weight training I would suggest 2-3times a week for the first few months and not consentrate too much on the acctual weights. You should put your focus to your technique in doing 2-3 full body workouts.

Your young and at a perfect age to start slowly, so that by the time your 18 or so you'll have the knowledge and base to really excel in bodybuilding, oly-lifting, powerlifting or sports basied weight training.

But at this stage knowledge is the most important thing. You will have a much better body when your 18 if you spend the 3rd and 5th workout reading up and learning about weight training than you would if your were acctually working out.

Just backing up R.Lewis's comments. More does not equal better, and can often be detrimental to achieving your goals.

its all a balancing act...just enough time spent in the gym to trigger the muscles to want to grow, then time out of the gym so they can actually recover, repair, and grow bigger/stronger.

if all you do is hit the gym to trigger growth, but dont' allow the growth through recovery time, there will be no growth.

If you are looking to loose lots of fat then 20mins of HITT 2x a week may not be enough. But if your doing it to just to stay healthy then thats fine.
