Hey Guys,
Sorry about bringing up one of the most asked questions I've seen on these forums but, I just can't figure out what it is for me that's the issue. I just turned 21 (male, 5'8") and weight 170lbs. I used to weigh around 160 about 7 months ago before I started working out 4-7 times a week.
Currently I can curl roughly 20 lbs more than I started (from 15lbs to 35lbs) and can bench roughly 35 lbs more (from 100 -135). I also do cardio every day and bike between 5-12 miles daily as well as walk 18 holes of golf 1-3 times/week.
I am wondering, how much weight in muscle do you think is actually gained by working being able to lift that much more? The best I have ever felt was when I weighed 153 (lowest in years) and it was great, but couldn't keep it there. That's why I started working out.
Either way, I just had a couple questions to see if anyone had any experience in terms of gaining muscle weight (and would be willing to share it with me):
1. How much weight in muscle do you think that increase in lifting ability has gotten me? Could it be the reason for those extra 10lbs?
2. I have abs (I think haha) but I can't see them yet, which means most likely I have to lose some more fat so I set my goal at 5-10lbs of fat. Do you think if I increase my cardio to say, 10-20miles/day biking that I can do that in a month or so? I will put my avg. diet at the end of this.
Thanks for taking the time to look this over!
