Questions on equipment

Hey folks! I've got a few quick questions on equipment.

I'm currently 6'0 (182.88cm), 170 LBS (77.3KG).

I'm currently living abroad in Sweden and not used to using the kind-of equipment that my host family has (I miss my ellipticals, bikes, and treadmills!!! :( Ack!)

Anyway, they have a Kettler Ultra E Power Center. Forgive my lack of knowledge on these things but I BELIEVE it has a bench press unit, butterfly, leg lift, latissimus station, and optimized leg press.

They also have a bench of some sort (I can use it for a back workout I believe) but no free weights. They also have a punching bag and gloves that fit me. (woohoo! :cool3:)

So... my question is: given that I want to drop around 20lbs (9.07kg) does anyone know any exercises I can do with these machines? My host family barely uses them, and I've never tried to use these machines for weight-loss purposes. I was thinking high-reps/low weight would be the way to go? Thoughts?

(Also, I'm vastly improving my diet while I'm here. yay vegies!!!)

It's good to hear that you're improving your diet bro. That will be a big factor.

To be honest, I don't have a lot of experience with that machine. I believe I've seen it before, but am not sure of all of the attachments.

I'd say your best bet is to use the punching bag for cardio. Tighten up all of your muscles (mainly your abs), and get in a fighting stance. (This can be however you want.. just don't be relaxed) Take different kinds of jabs, while really getting into moving around. Jab jab, right, jab jab left. You get the picture?

That'll really get your sweat on. From there, I think you're right about high reps, low weight.. start with that, but always switch it up. Occasionally go pretty heavy with low reps.. And then switch back.

Stick with it buddy!
