I am trying HARD to loose weight!!! I am a huge tea drinker. I drink sweetend decaffinated lipton tea. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is bad for me to drink alot of tea? I was thinking of trying to go for unsweetened, but I need to know if it is going to hurt my loosing weight, like drinking sodas does. Any info is great

Tea really isn't too bad for you... most teas will only have about 15 cals per drink (unsweetened). And the decaffinated is definately better because caffeine tends to suck water out of our bodies. I think you are on the right track =) It would be better to do unsweetened tea, because you have just that many more calories that you are not intaking. Perhaps you could get unsweetened, and add a splenda packet (0 cals)... Another thing to try would be green tea - green tea has lots of anti-oxidants and has egcg, which helps with weight-loss.

Good luck!!

dont quote me on this, but i could have sworn i read recently that too many tea tannins interfered with vitamin absorbtion. maybe do some research on it to be sure.

and is your tea sweetened with sugar? if so, those useless carbs arent going to help you at all with losing weight!

i don't think it is bad but lipton doesn't have antioxidants so i guess it is better to drink the non-commercialized type of teas.

and yeah... sugar is not too good when losing weight XD

@wonderwoman, you're correct, tea has enough caffeine in it that sucks and absorbs the vitamins. If one chooses herbal tea the caffeine is not as processed so it actually helps clean the blood.
