question on fat burning

I recently bought an elliptical machine about a month ago and its been great... I feel alot better about myself plus I am doing resistance training everyday of the week but sundays. Im doing higher reps with less weights, and targeting chest and arms every other day as well as doing my legs and lower body the days im not working my upper body. Im just curious now because I feel as if I am starting to plateau and want to find an awnser. Does walking burn more fat then running or working an elliptical machine. I heard that walking increases fat burn while running increases calorie burn. I eat 5 times a day now and normally I wake up at 7:50am and do 15 mins on my elliptical, then when I get home form work at night about 7pm I also go for another 15 mins and then do my resistance training. I would like to see if anyone can help me out my biggest goal is to drop from 300 to 200lbs, I am currently at about 280-285 in the past month. I know I have lost weight and fat cuz my clothes fit alot better, and I beleive my metabolism is speeding up since ive been eating healthy and 5 times a day.
any advice on anything I can do to get over this plateau will surly help. thank youl.

Two possibilities, one, your starting to build muscle mass and its keeping with your fat loss. 2, your indeed plateauing. Plateaus can be worked through, just keep your spirit up. Keep doing what your doing. Remember, your weight loss after the initial shock should slow down to 2 lbs a week, thats healthy natural weight loss. KEEP IT UP! great job so far. You can get there. Keep us informed :D

Weight Loss

When you on the machine, it will take about 15-20min toget your heart-rate up, thats when the fat burning will occur. Dont get me wrong,15min will help, but try to make some time for at least 25-30 minutes.

Another option is to try short bursts on the machine....10 minutes of intense work out. try it for 8 days.....it will help

You mentioned you are doing high reps w/ low weights - I would suggest doing lower reps with heavier weights; it may be the key to busting through your plateau.

since we are on the subject of high reps with low weights and low reps with high ones, what is the difference between the two? I mean, is HR/LW more targeted for weight loss and LR/HW better for muscle growth?

the more muscle you have the more fat you burn what i do to build muscle really fast is i start with 30 pounds off my maximum weight. then i do that until i cant do it any more. then i drop 30 more pounds and do that untill i cant do any more and so on. i get to the point where i cant even lift 10 pounds. then i go have a huge whey protien shake and the next day i have a huge increase in my muscle definition
