Question for my brother

My brother is 14 years old. Currently a freshman in high school. He is 5'6 115 pounds and just started weight lifting. He does a full body workout 3 times a week. He has been lifting for a month.

He does bench press, pushups, dumbbell flys, pull ups, bent over rows, 2 tricep exercises, regular curls, hammer curls, military press, and lateral raises. He doesn't do his legs because he is on the soccer and basketball team, which is enough for his age right now.He thinks he wont' grow. I told him just to keep doing that type of routine and eating his A** off, and he will slowly start to grow. He hasnt even hit his growth spurt yet, which is coming soon. He doesn't believe me. Can some1 reassurre him that hes on the right track.

Thanks

I started at that age too - Left school at the age of 15 haha, anyways..

He's still young, a big factor in it all is hormones. Just tell him to eat all he can get his hands on really, and keep at his training.

Too young to see a MASSIVE difference, it will come but don't expect it straight away. Tell him to stay away from the scales for 2 weeks, keep at it all and it'll come to him. This way he won't have any doubts in himself and would keep at it.

IMO working legs is important if growth is your #1 concern. I mean, scrap one of the curls and the lat raises for one good leg exercise and it'd be more well rounded.

His metabolic rate is probably pretty high right now. I usually tell kids at that age to start with the basics and concentrate on doing the movements correctly. Doing exercises like bench, squat, dead lifts military press and pull ups will benefit him the most. It looks like he is doing a good bit of mirror muscle work. I usually tell the athletes I work with to stray away from.
