Hello, my name is Jay.

I run a small start-up company called Qarosos. It is a company assisting those who wish to lose weight and get into incredible shape do so without having to enslave themselves to a diet and a rigorous training routine.

I know a lot about nutrition, and I know a lot about fitness, and I know how to cut past all of the hype and crap and get straight to the point of assistance.

I look forward to helping all of you to the best of my ability, and it is an honor to consider myself a member of these boards.

Thanks,

Jay

Well, I hope you are able to give out some good advice. I know we have several people on the forum thats lost tons of weight. Have you had any experiance in actually losing weight yourself? While I"m glad to hear you have your own little company. I hope you do well, but I hope you don't plan to spam the forum either. Its rather frowned upon.

I sure have. After my freshman year of college, I got the freshman 75 instead of the typical 15. I weighed in at 255 when the school year ended.

I looked at myself in the mirror and realized that at that rate I would be dead before I got to put my degree to work, so I set to better myself. I took on the Nutrition major, read thousands of pages of information, whittled it all down to something pertaining to my personal abilities, and in three years I was down to 175 and in the best shape of my life.

The concept is rather simple once you can narrow it down to the basics. It's just sticking to those basics that is the second hardest thing in the world.

I also don't plan on spamming the forum whatsoever. I believe in concise answers and organization.

Zara, I can do the best I can. Tell me a little about yourself.

Well thats quiet an acomplishment...congrats!

I have to agree, weight loss really is easy. Its just that mental part of it that gets most people.

Truth.

What I've basically learned is this:

3x a week workout with weights
3x a week cardio
1x a week rest day
1g protein per pound of lean body mass per day
Fruits, veggies, and essential fatty acids daily
Eat a wide variety of healthy foods
Adjust to desired weight loss goal

Weigh once per week, at same general time
Don't panic if weight increases occasionally
Reduce calories if weight doesn't drop for three weeks straight
After adjusting, stay at new value for at least three weeks before adjusting again

Eat as healthy as possible
Avoid "soy" products, and "corn" products
Read labels
Track everything

I'll probably make a thread on this later.

Before you do....take a look around the forum. We have our own "resident experts" that has made several threads on weight loss and nutrition. Just make sure you're not posting the same things they have.
