Protein Shakes?

I'm working on my eating habits and I always hear people say they are drinking protein shakes in their diets, are they really good for your diet? Should I add them to my daily routine? and if so can anyone suggest a protein shake I have no idea where to begin on protein shakes....any advice is helpful thanks-

I asked similar questions before so welcome to the club.

I added these shakes so that I could get more protein in my diet and to help with muscle growth.

2 Kinds of Shakes. Whey and Egg/Soy based. (correct me if wrong gurus)

Whey is best for right after a workout because it 'feeds' the muscles faster.

Egg/Soy is better throughout the day because it takes longer for your body to use it up vs. whey.

I drink Muscle Milk brand in the day and IsoFlex after a workout.

Both taste pretty darn good actually. I purchased the Root Beer flavor Muscle Milk which is pretty tasty. Then I did the IsoFlex in Chocolate which is also really good. I may change to a vanilla in the IsoFlex later because I find myself mixing fruit into my shakes at home in the blender. There is only so much you can mix with cholocate but vanilla has plenty more options.

It is beneficial in general, but it also depends on your goals and your routine quite a bit. If you are vegetarian, just as an example, it would be a little harder to get a sufficient amount of protein, again just an example.

There are different types, like Tropez mentioned, whey, egg, soy, blends, etc.

There are two types of whey, isolates and concentrates.

The isolates are "better" for you because they have a higher biological value, which means the protein source is more "pure" and is used more efficiently in your body.

has a pretty good selection, there is a bar to scroll to what supplement you are looking for, I'm sure you can figure it out, I've always ordered from there and been happy with it.
