Proactive Weightloss Journal

if you've failed a thousand times, you haven't failed you just learned a thousand ways not to do something...

well here I am starting at point A again trying to get to point Z, but one thing I must not forget is, you must get from point A to point B before you can think about getting to point C....

Saturday January 6th 2007 a new year to start with!!
worked today was so horrible.. I know I need to get back in the gym cause I need to get my cardio going again...
I'm an avid weightlifter, and I have focused in the past a little to much on strength, and not enough on fitness... I'm roughly about 325lbs as of right now... a few months ago I was about 308lbs which is the lowest I've been since 2005... my ultimate goal is to be a lean 225lbs... I have a big frame, so I'm not expecting much less than 225... my quota each month is a 10lb weight loss each month... so I'm hoping to get to 225 by sometime in october 2007... wish me luck everyone...

well todays saturday...
and I'm about to go to the gym, I'll let everyone know what I do, not to sure what I want to do yet, I'll figure it out when I get there...
keep my fingers crossed, lol

Hi & Welcome to the WLF :)

It sounds like you've got the gym work down, and that exercising isn't going to be an issue at all!

Are you throwing in some cardio? Even something as simple as a 45 minute walk can help lose the weight!

Good luck on this journey!

well I ended up doing 30min on the treadmill at 3.0mph, and once I realized I had enough time to workout I decided to do circuit training... my gym has a circuit training part of the gym where you can go from machine to machine to machine... its kind of like a line of machines that work opposing muscles... ex: bench/rows/triceps/biceps/quads/hams/calves/abs ect...
well I just kind of went around doing 3 sets of 12 pretty much for everything... I'll agree I might of done a little to much on my day back, but I think I'll be ok... I'll get a system going soon.. I just didn't want to do the same workout I usually do... I wanted to mix it up to get excited again...
well I weighed myself today at the gym with the doctor scale with shoes and all on, and I was 317lbs! I usually give myself 2 lbs for shoes and 1lb for clothes, so I would be approximately 314lbs... which 315 was quota from this month... Lets see what happens by the end of the week... I know weight fluxuates, but I also know I lost a lot of retained water I had, and water is 70% of your body... so a lot of weight loss is going to be water...

tomorrow I'm thinking I'm going to do 30min on the treadmill at 3.0mph again but no weights and than I'll go to work for a little bit..

thanks, yeah even though my goal hasn't always been weightloss, I've always gone to the gym, so I'm pretty familiar with training in general and what does what...
a weightloss program isn't a weightloss program without cardio! :)
thanks a bunch for the welcome, and kind words...

its sunday morning, and a brand new day... I feel a lot better today than I normally would on a sunday, I think it has to do with all the toxins I sweat out yesterday...
the agenda for the day is to go to the gym, do my 30minutes on the treadmill at 3.0mph and than go to work for a little bit.... I try to take it easy on sundays.... I can't wait for monday so I can start going at it again...

Have a good day :)

thanks, I'm pretty exhausted from doing cardio and than going to work, so now that I'm home I'm going to take a long nap so tomorrow after work I'll have enough energy to do it all over again, lol

I also started taking some of my old supplements yesterday...
multivitamin, glutamine, glucosamine, and amino acids...
I'll also start taking my low carb protein shakes after my workouts as a post workout meal...
gotta keep muscle to keep burning fat... thats for sure... I'm also starting to feel my metabolism speed up through the roof, I'm always hungry now that I started working out and doing cardio hard again...
monday I'm going to weigh myself, and every monday after that as well for my official weigh in day at the gym they have a doctor scale so it should be accurate... I'll weigh myself before I start working out and after I workout... just for accuracy in weight fluxuation...

well I just got home from work, a little tired.. actually really tired, lol but I don't think its from training, I think its from lack of sleep this past week.. I'll be sure to sleep in tomorrow and wednesday as I have those two days off this week... I'll aslo have time on those days to focus on going to the gym more...

as for the rest of today... I'm going to take a power nap and than eat a banana and drink a gatorade and I'll do 30min on the treadmill at 3.0mph and do the circuit training course at my gym.. 3 sets of 12 trying to hit every machine in the circuit course... I'll also go in the sauna for 10 min before and after my workout...

also I'm going to stop drinking so much water at work... I felt like it was wearing me down a little.. where I usually feel lighter on my feet if I drink a little water here and there....

I'm always hungry now that I started working out and doing cardio hard again...

I can empathize with that. I find it so hard sometimes not to cancel out my workout by just chowing down! But I find that only lasts for a couple of weeks at a time and then I go through periods where I don't feel nearly as hungry. Sounds like you're doing great. Nice!

thanks man, yeah I usually eat as much as I feel I need, just good foods.. and if I do eat something high in fat content I limit my portion... but I think I'll start getting a system down like I usually always do..
I'll have to check your journal out sometime, see how your doing :)

did cardio yesterday treadmill 3.0mph for 30minutes, than lifted weights for about an hour or so and than did 10 min with level intervals on a stationary bike....

today I'm going to do 30min on the elliptical machine and maybe do some time in the sauna... we'll see.. I'll post up later..

It sounds like you're doing a great prfrmnc - consistancy is everything in this game :) One day at a time, and you're doing just that!

thank you very much, that makes me feel really good about this journal that people are recognizing the hard work I put in here :) the way I look at it is... every day counts, whether I want to workout or not... christmas or 2008 will always be here eventually I mid as well do the work now so when 2008 comes along I don't go... wow its already 2008 if I would have kept doing those workouts I would be at my goal weight right now... lol :)

The thing I'm really liking about having a journal where I write how I feel or what I did and stuff is kind of the freedom... in the past I've always tried to do "programs" and my life became a program, and I would get bored after a few months, I'd lose weight, but it wasn't something I could do for the rest of my life.... but now I'm playing it by ear, doing as my body tells it to... and I go to the gym, and do something different every day... its very exciting to me where it was the exact opposite before where I knew everything I was going to eat that day, and everything I was going to exercise before I would go to the gym... now its an open book... I know this isn't a big deal to anyone but to me its much more of a breath of fresh air...

well I haven't posted in my journal in a few days.. partly cause I had to work in the rain and cold for the past few days, and I've been feeling on the verge of being sick for a few days... but I still feel energized in the gym... its weird... well I weighed myself, and I was 315lbs as of yesterday.. so thats 30lbs total lost since my heaviest weight

well I started a hand written journal in a black and white notebook, so I decided I would write in that, and whatever I wrote in that I would put on here as well... well I started it yesterday so I will start with yesterday and post todays as well...
