Long time lurker of the forum here, really seen some inspirational stuff on here. Thought I would show you guys some cool stuff I ran across on fiverr in return for what I found here.

Sometimes when I get depressed i'll buy something weight loss related from there, although most of them are so-so or rubbish. Found one recently that has been actually helping me lose weight.

http://fiverr.com/professorchris/share-with-you-the-secret-of-how-i-lost-over-160-lbs-in-less-than-a-year-give-you-a-copy-of-new-my-book-and-offer-help-by-private-message

I dunno, I think it would be pretty good for someone who has been fat all their lives. It's written pretty straight forward, no fluffy stuff. Since doing what's suggested in there I have already lost 10 lbs in just over a week, starting off at 322.

To summarize his book:

1. Talks about why Americans are fat - claims its because of eating stuff that humans weren't designed to eat, like a lot of bread and rice

2. How to come up with a new diet for life - it's a low carb diet where you cut out a lot of crap most people eat

3. Talks about how to get active

He used to be really really fat - so his guide is written for those who are like that.

The only downside is that it's written in pretty blunt language, there is some cursing and stuff. It's totally worth it.

- Joey

P.s. Do you guys think I should make a weight loss journal here?

A friend of mine bought his advice, pretty basic and I think most Americans know this stuff already (no offense) don't eat processed foods, cook, go to the gym, etc. Low carb isn't necessarily more healthy. I went vegan and I eat more carbs that ever AND my muscles are stronger because I continue to get the protein I need. Low carb will make you lose weight but low carb often means low fruits and veggies which in turn leads to disease in the future because you body is lacking many nutrients.

This is Weight Loss in a Nutshell

-Eat healthy (we all know what that is)

-Burn more than you eat

-Do cardio

-Do resistance

I've lost weight off of eating top ramen everyday because I continued to burn more than I ate.

That's all there is to it... I don't understand why we need all these crazy diet pills (yes they help I take them, but for appetite suppression only), diets, HCG shots, etc it's all BS... just get up and burn more that you eat, eat low-fat salads, salmon, fruit, veggies, and when at the gym lift weights and run... THAT'S IT

You friend obviously didn't buy this book - because no where does it say to cut fruits or vegetables out of the diet.

It also has a huge section on exercise geared down those who have never exercised before - again, your making that up about your friend having bought this book.

It's not as simple as you say because not everyone has the same genetics - morbidly obese people will not benefit from a vegan diet. In fact, such a diet will raise their blood glucose and will probably contribute to glucose intolerance, metabolic syndrome or at worst: diabetes.

#1. She did buy this book, maybe the problem was I don't remember exactly what she said, forward wording things can lead to wrong wording

#2. I'm not making it up, why would I?

#3. I didn't say cut fruits and vegetables out of your diet, everyone in the world knows that fruits and vegetables are essential to any diet

#4. Genetics do play a huge role in obesity, however, people use that as an excuse too much. No matter what your genetics are (unless you have a real hypothyroid problem or something like that) if you "try to lose weight for a long period of time" and don't lose or hardly lose at all, then you aren't dieting / exercising enough. I have PCOS in which my hormones are screwed up, it's genetic and I got it from my mother. Now, I used this as an excuse forever half-way dieting and exercising for a whole year with little results. It wasn't until I truly got off of my butt and truly ate well that weight came off. You can only use the "it's my bad genes" excuse for so long. Weight loss no matter what your genes are boils down to the 4 things I said above. When I worked at GNC countless amounts of people came back to thank me because I told them "you're eating too much and not exercising enough".

#5. Actually, it is the combination of animal foods and carbohydrates that causes blood sugar to rise. If you eliminate meat and dairy or eliminate carbs and sugar it will drop your blood sugar either way. My blood sugar has gone down since I have become vegan. If you look into the average diet of diabetics you will find that often they eat way too much meat and surprisingly not a ton of sugar, they eat more meat than sugar or carbs. It is true though going vegan isn't for everyone. The point I was making was that low carb isn't the only option to lower your blood sugar (which is one of the main ways to lose weight, keeping your blood sugar under control). The advantage that vegan has over low carb is that you aren't consuming cholesterol at all (cholesterol is only in animal products) and you aren't eating animal fat which is the main type of calorie that is counter-productive to weight loss.

I won't argue with you, but please do not call me a liar, again, it could have been that I didn't remember what she said. I am here to help just like you are.

lol - whatever. If you want to lose weight and are obese don't listen to this person.

1. No, she didn't. You just wanted to hijack this thread by assuming the generic contents of a very non-generic book in order to spout your ideology. You are a liar.

2. See above.

3. OK, so why did you claim this book suggests "low carb often means low fruits and veggies which in turn leads to disease"

4. OK LOL

5. LMAO - find me a meat which has a glycemic index on nutritiondata.com please. Here's beef, the most common thing americans eat: http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/beef-products/3820/2

How about chicken? http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/poultry-products/703/2 ? How funny, they are both 0.

TO the audience:

If you're obese chances are you have abnormal levels of glucose and insulin in your bloodstream and eating a vegan diet will only make things worse due to the high glycemic load of the foods involved. Don't waste your time and health with the nonsense this person is spouting, and even if you don't buy this book, I don't care, at least look up dietdoctor.com or "fathead" (documentary)

You have nothing else to throw at me. Do the research! I didn't say the book said low carb means low fruits and veggies I said that low carb diets in general are low in fruits and veggies because of their high carb content

yeah and that's why most vegans are within a healthy body fat range...

For those who do want to lose weight, I will be in the journal section with updates on how I'm going to lose my last 65 pounds, I will post the link soon. I've already lost 35 (50 in total) pounds eating a vegan diet. I'm not saying vegan is the only way I'm saying vegan or low carb will work the same way.

Me

AI know plenty of vegans with very unhealthy fat levels lol and personally I would never be able to eat enough protein on such a diet.
