Possible tendonitis in right forearm, what to do?

Hey all! Nice to be a new member here. I have a concern, about 2 weeks ago (maybe 3) my forearm began to hurt, particularly when lifting weights, some exercises more than others, which leads me to postulate that it's either a particular muscle or tendon that I've injured.

I'm a 27 year old male (5'10" 175lbs) and I've been lifting weights about 5 days a week since January (I lifted a lot in college too) but this is the first instance of any problem of this nature. The pain isn't severe but I don't want to do any permanent damage so I stopped lifting and made an appointment with a rhumatologist (sp?). I really enjoy lifting though and don't want to lose the progress I've made in the past 6 months. I've googled the symptoms and it seems possible that I have tendonitis but I'm unsure how I would have developed it...

Can anyone shed any light or give any advice? I really don't want to stop lifting weights but I also don't want to hurt myself.

Thanks much!!!

If it is tendonitis it should respond will to ice and anti-inflammatories like Ibroprofen.

When is the appointment with the rheumatologist?

Your doctor will be able to diagnose your pain and give you good advice, but I have had tennis elbow on 3 or 4 occasions and it goes away for me after I ice it, rest it, and take ibuprofen (NSAID) for about a month.

Yeah, after reading that link I must have tennis elbow... I have all those symptoms. I have had it since the summer started... icing it didn't seem to do anything so I just kinda have left it alone for the past month.
