Please, I need advice, 1 year post partum and im still flabby

Okay, its gonna get long so please bear with me. Coming out of high school I was very fit and toned ( cheerleader and dancer for 4 years). My weight ranged from 125-137.. depending on the time of year etc. I am 5'4 and half, African-American ( i know that may say alot0 and have a small body frame. So , I graduated at 117 ( deatly thin to look good in a borrowed dress [I'd never do that again]) and went to a good 134 while in college-my norm. So I got pregnant my second year ( 2 years ago) and throughout the pregnancy gained 40 lbs and lost 2 at the end, so 38 if you;d say. 20 of it came off immdeiately and with diet and proper exercise the other 20 came off about 5 mos post partum. Well, I was doing some serious running 2-4 miles a day (5 days) and weight lifting 3 x a week plus 2 pilates classes a week. This brought me down to 134. Well, my stomach is still flabby. I know your body doesn't look the same as it did pre-preggers but it is so sickening. Its liek I have to define everything all over again AND my stomach looks like a big glob of fat. I see my ab muscles peaking up from it but, when I walk, run or sit it like shakes and looks disgusting. I don't know what to do about it. Especially my lowe ab region os like a freakin kangaroo pouch. What do you all suggest? How do I know if its just skin and I can't work it out? In the last 2 month I gained about 7 lbs from careless eating and I typically gain weight in the winter... Please help me.. I want to tone up even more, because with all the weights that I am doing, I look as toned as I was pre-pregger but i want to be leaner and more muscular. I am stomped as to what to do. I am deatly afraid of being fat, its in my genes, my whole fam is fat and Im only 21.... I typically run for 30 min ( 3x a week), about 3 miles, and weight train 3 days a week to maintain. Now, I need to lose again and this gut is disgusting, I seriously have issues with myself naked. I can deal with the stretch marks makeup will cover those puppies, but not my kangaroo pouch. I want to model, be a hooters girl, and a cheerleader again, but not with this body....please help...

i feel for you girl i do. i have two boys and had a csection with my first so i get the whole kangaroo pouch. oh the memories. my kids are now 3 and 5. i can tell you it does get better.my pouch is finallyy gone. a lot of hard work went into it. i did cardio 2 to three times aweek and weights on a 3 day whole body routine. my diet was very clean although i threw in some cheats here and there, but it took about 2 yrs for everything to knit back together. now i am in better shape than i was pre prepregancy. i know its frustrating, oh boy do i . but keep your chin up and keep challenging yourself keep uping the weights and do lots of compounds. that will help.i weight between 120-130 depending on the day week etc. but i always wear a size 0 or 00. so it is doable trust me. besides once the wee ones hit two you will be running your butt off after them. lol. i have one disadvantage on you as well i'm older- 31. but i did it and i know you can too. i stiil have the naked issues but thats more of what the preganacy thing did to my chest- i'm less than impressed. if you want post your weight routine and everything esle you do and you will get a lot of good feed back from the members here. and you can pm me if you want to for encouragment. keep it up girl it will get better, you are determined and that makes all the difference.:)

oh and don't be freaked by genetics either my whole family is large- moms down to 176 i think now. but i am the freak of the family being as small as i am. so think positive ok.

Face reality in that in may not happen. All you can do is get into the best shape that you can handle. You have gravity, genetics, and metablolism working against you.

Eat well and exercise. Give it time. And when all is said and done, accept yourself for what you are!

All I am hearing here is basically "Grin and Bear it"! Forget that!! It sounds like the girl needs a bit of guidance and some TLC.

There are some caring professionals out there that actually will help you to do it right. I worked with a doctor through his web site (triforlife.net) and actually learned how to take care of myself. I went from 165 to 115 in 6 months...I'm 5'6".

Good luck...you can do it!
