Unless it's changed there was a limit on the number of posts you've done before you can add a signature. Not sure the exact number I'm afraid.

I think that there are two limits - one based on number of posts and one based on number of days of membership. I am not exactly sure what they are - but I think that it might be about 10... Make a few more postings and see whether it changes...
