Please Help me. I'm Lost aswell

Hello everyone. I'm new here on this forum. I have rarely gone out of the house in years cause of my anxiety. Haven't taken the treatment seriously since I like staying at home and just play PC games. Now i've decided to change for the good to get better and well since I can't be at home forever.

I'm 23, 5'7 and 145 lbs. I eat 2 times a day, before I sleep and after I wake up. I eat a lot though. I recently found out that im at my ideal weight range. But when i look at myself at the mirror, I look kinda fat. I got double chins and a big tummy. I don't have any problem with my arms and chest they look normal but they're not muscular either. What's important for me I guess is to lose the fat on my face and my tummy and maintain it.

What should I do? Cardio? Won't that make me lose not just fat? Can someone give me advice on what to do. Is losing fat alone the right thing for me to do? Since i'm in my ideal weight anyway.

This is my current daily schedule:

6:30pm - Wake up
7:00pm - Eat
7:30pm-7:30am - Use the computer
7:30am-9:00+am - I eat then I try to sleep after. I take sleeping pills. It takes a while for it to work on me though.
9:00am-6:30pm - Sleep.

I woke up at 6:30pm today and its curretnly 10:30pm. I think I'll sleep later at midnight to fix my sleeping schedule and read your replies in the morning. I hope you guys can help me. I'll try to work hard on this and on treating my anxiety so I can go to back to college since I keep stopping cause of anxiety.

I'm sure you understand that this is a very unhealthy lifestyle and we really need to sort this out.
I could write exactly what you need to be doing but it will be way too much of a sharp change.

We really need to get you on a plan where you set your self long term goals i.e. spending 1hour less on the PC every 2weeks.

Do you have a job? school? etc...
 
Hello it's 3am here right now and i've taken my sleeping pill so I hope to fix my sleeping schedule soon. I know its very unhealthy I got used to this cause of my anxiety I never go out. I don't go to school currently maybe when I get better. If ever I get the guts to go to school prolly next year june. I hope by that time everything will be better.

I'm gonna work hard on this. Hope you make a plan for me that'll help change my life. Well i'm from the philippines btw so we eat rice here thats why we kinda don't eat like 5-8 times a day. its only usually breakfast, lunch and supper. Maybe if you guys will also suggest some type of food so i could eat 5-8 times a day besides lunch and supper. I think i can eat oatmeal for breakfast then bread for snacks.

Ok i'll sleep now so ill wake up earlier then sleep every earlier tomorrow. Thanks again.

You are aware this is an unhealthy lifestyle, and I'm glad your making the effort to change this. Before we start anything, start eating more than twice a day. Be conscience of the choices you make (opt for lean protein and complex carbs over junk food).

Hello its 1pm here I just ate lunch. Fish, veggies and a banana lol. Can anyone give me advice on how to lose the fat on my tummy and face cause im in my ideal weight range now and i don't really wanna lose weight unless its from the fat if it possible. I got a stationary bike here and some dumbbells. Dunno if i should do cardio or weight training or both for fat loss only. Thanks
 
healthy diet + cardio + weight training = fat loss.

Read up on all 3 in the different forums. Bookmark or print out the threads you find helpfull and make yourself a folder of information. Write up what you plan to do and post it back here or start your own journal in the mens journal forum.
Thats the best way to get organised.
 
hello i checked fitday and tried to see how much calories i get from the food i eat before. this is the 2 usual order i get delivered from fast food restaurants.
My mom is lazy to cook so i usually eat a lot of these every week but thats before and not anymore hehe.
I tried to check the calories in the breakfast 1 on fitday and it says its more than 1k calories im not sure if i got the quantity right though.

I eat this usually for lunch or dinner.
Fried chicken with 1 cup rice.
Spaghetti
Cheesy fries (with grated and melted cheese)
large fries (i mix with the cheesy fries)
Large Soda
Burger

This i eat usually for breakfast but thats the usual time before i sleep before.
Pork sausage 2 pieces like 3 inches long each but 1/3 inch thick.
Fried egg with rice
Large Fries
Hashbrown
2 pcs pancakes with butter and maple syrup
Large Soda sometimes 2

Well i think if i dont eat those anymore im sure im gonna lose fat and weight.
Thanks guys. I try to eat every 3 hours now and sleep early and exercise do cardio after breakfast(oatmeal) in the morning. then prolly do weight training at night 3 times a week.

Good to me lol and to everyone as well. I've learned a lot from these forums thanks and hope to get muscular in the future lol.

I agree. I think if you ditch those toxic meals and replace them with healthier alternatives you will lose weight. I don't think you should be counting calories yet. Getting into a routine of healthy eating should be your primary goal. After you get into the habit of clean eating you can start counting calories, worry about nutrient windows and other such minutia.

For starters, You can replace the fried chicken with grilled chicken breast, the soda with diet soda (for the time being), The burgers you can make at home using lean meats and wholemeal buns.

For breakfast try having eggs or cottage cheese on wholemeal bread and a glass of juice.

Try eating at least three meals a day instead of two then try and gradually increase to five or six.

Also, I've personally found exercise, particularly in the morning, does wonders for anxiety and self-confidence.

Hey guys im back. I dont wanna make a new thread for this but i got a question. cause im trying to eat every 3 hrs now but sometimes i get sleepy and take naps or sometimes theres no food. Will metabolism will slow down when i feel hungry? Or is it when i get hunry then don't eat for hours.

For example last time I ate is 12pm then next is 5 or 6pm cause I took a nap or something. will it slow down my metabolism? also, if i eat again will my metabolism be back to normal? Cause i want my diet/eating habit to be the main reason im losing fat/weight. Thanks
 
Ideal weight means nothing. You sound over fat and under muscled...that's why at your 'ideal weight' you think you 'look fat'.

feeling hungry has nothing to do with metabolism. not eating enough and not eating often enough WILL slow your metabolism and 'damage' it. the only way to reverse that is to eat right, eat often, and eat the correct portion sizes.
 
ok thanks a lot. yes im eating the right food nowadays since I started this thread.

My mom just bought groceries and bought me a bag full of chips lol and its in my room now but there's no way im touching it lol. She didnt even buy eggs. At least she bought me cornflakes, wholewheat bread and canned tuna its kinda oily though. I think she bought me a bag of hotdogs as well but i found out theyre high in fat so i'm not gonna eat those. I used to eat hotdogs every meal like 3 medium sized with rice cause my mom really doesn't like to cook.

Am I avoiding these "bad" foods too much? or is it alright to eat some once a week or something? Maybe if i eat some i might like it and eat a lot lol.

Oh yeah btw after my last workout my mom got home and brought me fast food lol I got kinda mad cause i worked hard on weight training. Well I had no choice or i had nothign to eat I ate the burger at 9pm and the friend chicken, I kinda put the meat together with bread and ate them at 12am. No skin btw.

hot dogs are quite possibly one of the worst foods you could eat. high fat content aside, its hard to find a food more processed than a hot dog. it doesn't even look or taste like meat anymore.

i've never seen a hotdog grow mold....there's that much salt and preservative in it.
DON'T EAT EM.
 
Wow, alot of what you said in your original post sounds like me. At the beginning of this year i had a panic attack, and I had horrid anxiety for the months following that event. Unless you have ever suffered from anxiety, people can't really relate, and although what everone said here is correct, you need to focus on doing one thing at a time you wouldn't/were afraid to do. For those first couple months I didn't leave the house and did basically what you did, sat on the computer; but I forced myself to go to school, to go outside and do the things I enjoy, and now I'm FORCING myself to get into shape.

Anxiety and that panic attack were both the worst thing in my life, yet the best because It completely changed me for the better. I hope that you find some value in the things I've said, and best of luck to you.
 
Oh god...I ate a friggin hot dog today. They had a hot dog sale at work. I shouldn't have caved in...the salad bar is right upstairs!!!

Not only that, but I had a can of pop, which I haven't had in probably like a month. Sprite zero...no carbs, calories, or fat. But they do put that embalming fluid stuff in there (aspertame).

Sorry for ranting...carry on.
