Hello everybody i just found this amazing forum by coincedence i weight 375 lbs 6'1" tall and i really wanna lose weight but dunno how to start and what to do so i really need your help :(((

Hello Hisham,

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on making a decision to lose the weight! I have felt exactly like you and I can tell you it is possible to lose the weight! I started out at 268 back in 1 June 2011, and now as of 1 November, I'm at 211...that's 57 pounds! I started with my loving husband telling me I needed to go on a diet...really hurt my feelings, but I knew he was right, so I couldn't argue. I work fulltime on a high stress job, so I didn't want to commit to counting calories and the attention that requires...so I made my own simple program...1) no sweets (the occasional fruit is OK). 2) No soft drinks...(I'm convinced that Diet Coke (I loved that stuff!) has something in it that makes you retain fluid and want more sweet stuff). I do drink soda water and regular bottled water and brew hot tea which seems to really help me with hunger pangs. 3) No eating after 6 pm. With my job, I rarely get home before 6:00pm, so in fact this means that I rarely have dinner except on weekends..this means that sometimes I go to bed hungry...I just try to imagine that its a sure sign I'm losing weight and eventually I go to sleep. 4) Exercise 1 hour daily...when I started, it was walking on the treadmill at 0 incline, then I moved up to hills, then I moved over to the Elipitcal..and I'm still here. On the weekends, I do more than 1 hour now...drinking alot of water and listening to music. 5) Weigh 1 time per month...While part of me wants to see results every day...the other part of me hates to see no progress...so I compromise with weighing on the 1st of the month. I do track my progress and gloat in the results for a little while!

So, that's my routine...of course it's hard some days, but so far, so good...it's the most weight I've ever lost, ever, in my life. I'm a 51 year old woman...for me the motivation was to look good for my husband and probably more important was to avoid diabetes that runs in my family.

Hope this helps and again...good progress to you!
