PLEASE help - dire situation :(

I just wanted to add ... I hope my last post didn't come across too mean or anything. :)

I really do sympathize with your concerns and I know that you really just have the best interests of your husband in mind. I know you want to make sure he's healthy. Just give everything some time.

I would be willing to bet money if you do this 6 week bootcamp thing, and while you're doing it, provide healthy meals of around 3000 calories a day, the weight will start to come off. I really really believe it will happen. :)

No, it didn't come off as mean at all, I bet mine did though.. sorry I was just frustrated and I wanted to get across that he has had a screwed up metabolism for a long time.. and trying to understand it's affect on what happens now..

This is really getting to me and I don't know why.. I spent 6 hours today doing pure research (mainly on dailyplate) and I just gave myself a huge headache.. we have been through so much together (a LDR of 3+ years as TEENS, an immigration process that included leaving the country together and not knowing if he would ever be allowed to come home, etc.) but this is the one that is killing me.. I guess it is because to me, there isn't really one set formula to follow. With immigration, all I had to do was fill out the forms, prepare the best case I could (and let me tell you I turned into a lawyer for those 8 months!), and also realize that I would be OK living in another country.. this to me is harder because it seems that you can do everything right and still struggle, and because neither one of us is OK with this continuing on into the future.. I don't know but this is kicking my butt! Hubby thinks I am crazy when I say I prefered the immigration process to this.. LOL..

I am going to try my hardest to continue to help him achieve healthy 3000-3500 calorie days and see what happens with that and the workouts.. I have read alot about the process of repairing the metabolism.. and that they may gain a few pounds at first but it will be mostly muscle.. is this basically the same as what you have told me?

Well, it won't be mostly muscle, no. But yes, there could be some gain at first.

Really and seriously - I think you need to walk away from all the numbers for a bit. Just give it a few weeks. If things don't move after 6 or 8 weeks, then you can come back and say "that doesn't work".
