Sooo, after finding out someone in my life was still trying to track me down (2 years later!) by searching for my old username, I'm back under something a little more generic! Thank you Korrie! Also, I love these forums and know I need the support and inspiration from you lovely people, so I can't give up!
Progress pictures:
(Should be noted, the last picture in this below 'timeline' was taken very early in the morning on a good day, in VERY flattering light - I'm not even close to toned yet! I was just so happy with that picture I HAD to include it!
)
First pair of UK size 10 jeans!
My 'goal' trousers from before.. bit baggy now!
And my final goal of how I want to look: I bought the white and brown bikini in UK size 14 for when we go on holiday to my brother's wedding, and I want to look just as amazing in it as this young lady modelling it. Once I get to where I want to get, I'll post a picture! Sure, it's technically a bit big for me now, but thanks to it being so stretchy, it doesn't matter! Still fits so far!
And this is the dress I bought for the actual wedding - deliberately figure hugging! Just hope I won't put it to shame when the day come!
I'm a 28 year old female, 5'8 (173½cm) and dating a wonderful man who has also recently started trying to lose weight, so gonna be logging his progress here too! We live together in Sweden, and have two Ragdoll cats that I am proud to say we've human-toilet trained. ..Odd thing to be proud of, yes, but there we have it! As you can probably tell, I like pictures. Pictures are fun and less work than reading.. although I tend to write a lot as well. Argh!
Long story short, I started at 73kg in September last year and am currently, as of this morning, at 64.3kg. I'm think I'm aiming for around 58kg which I believe is absolutely achieveable by July, and I'm already feeling happier with myself and my body. I've gone from a UK size 14 (US 12) to a UK size 10 (US size 8), and I've noticed I have a lot more confidence with people in general, too! That said, I still have PLENTY of the unsightly wobbly stuff on my thighs, hips and stomach, and I want that gone!
My main reasons for doing this is, obviously, for myself; but the motivation that kicked it all off was the fact my brother is getting married in July. He's flying all of us (his fiancee and her family, my family, and my boyfriend) off to Cyprus for an all inclusive week of sunshine(!!!) and also holding the actual wedding ceremony over there. His fiancee's family are all, predictably, extremely fit, slim and sports motivated, and I don't want to be the fat chick in my brother's wedding photos, letting my side of the family down!
I try to use the treadmill for 30-40 minutes every other day, and write down everything I eat. I do try and calorie count as well, and have found LiveStrong's MyPlate to be very useful for that, but I quite often forget to use it. Over the past few months though, I've learned to listen to my body and the difference between actual hunger and 'I want that because it tastes nice', so most of the time I go by that. I'm trying to average about 4lbs a month, since slow seems to be better in the long run. We also treat ourselves once a month to a big fat pizza or something along those lines, just as a reminder that it's a TREAT, not an everyday meal and that we can still eat it in moderation.
Cheers all! Right now, there's SHEDLOADS of snow outside, so I'm gonna go burn some calories and do something a 28 year old probably shouldn't - build a massive snowman!
