So..
My diary begins with a BMI of 36.60, and a weight of 91.5 kg.
I'm aiming to do an hours fast walking, as I don't hav the stamina to run, and also going to do an hour of Yoga weekly! Wish me luck with that one!

I'm gonna try write in here as much as I can, and I want you girls & guys to tell me where I'm going wrong, and be honest! Sometimes it's the truth that kicks your a-into-g and i think I need it...

My eating habits, must change. I'm a comfort eater, so that needs to stop!
And I tend to sit on the computer more than I am out walking (ironically!)

Also, I'm depressed about the way I look. It brings me down, i hate not being able to run a flight of stairs anymore, its embarrasing to reach the top red faced and panting... I cant wear my old clothes, I feel left out going clothes shopping with friends, most of all, I feel ugly, and disgusting... I'm sick of wanting to scream every time I look in the mirror, so it's time for a change...

So wish me luck, lots of it, and we'll get there... I'll keep you posted!

Hi,
It's great to see you already have walking and yoga as a starting point. In no time, you'll be able to run.

It's also great to know that you know what changes you need to make. That's always an important step and I believe you've got it down.

Good luck :)

Welcome. :)

So what are all the positives that you believe can come from losing all this weight?

What are the negatives you have associated with losing this weight?

You mind is such a large player in this process. Identification of some of your personal inner-workings can take you a long ways.

When I started i was out of breath taking out the trash (like 15 feet) - now I can speedwalk/jog 2 miles every morning! It is so rewarding to build up your stamina, you can do it!

Welcome to your journal and you're going to do great!

Walking has to be one of the best ways to get exercise in. There is no way I could run for any length even if I had the stamina - the repetitive impact would destroy my knees. Start with whatever's comfortable and build up from there would be my advice.

As for beating comfort eating - try getting hold of a horrible photograph of yourself and put it where you'll see it when you're at your weakest, like in the food cupboard. It can serve as a reminder of what you're trying to escape from.

Hello Lauren!

Have you got a walking buddy? It's so much easier to walk with a friend. And when it rains you can go walking in the mall together, and look at all the pretty clothes :)

Thanks all so much! I've lost a kilo already - I have been eating healthier and have been keeping up with my walking.
I'm allowing myself treats here and there (I'm a sugar addict - terrible I know!) So I didn't have the urge to binge on them. I just walk them off later! I'm off to Yoga tomorrow... Very excited!
Thanks all so much!
xx
