it was :( and I complained for the entire 1900. I even glided until it was a floating and breathing thing. I had a whiney lil temper fit and everything...

BUT- I only exhaled into the water ever time,,, I never gave up the workout, just acted like a baby!

how did you know? :eek2: amazing woman!

sometimes I just don't dang feel like working out for hours at a time!!! crap!

LOL. We play the same game. Sometimes you just "know" from one to another.

rode 20 miles headwind both ways LOL
ran: 5 miles

practiced wearing bike shorts over tri-shorts, worked well- forgot all about them during ride, came right off even though sweaty, thrue on shoes, one nice stretch for each calve, took off on the run with a bottle of accelerade, felt strong. Transition practice time of 4:35.

cool down run planned for tonight.

nice Brick

hmm bike shorts over tri shorts. I bet thats pretty cush. Do you run with your bottle? Is that hard? I was thinking about that today. I have a water belt but it feels like it inhibits my stride. holding something might be annoying..slosh slosh. That transition time is fine in a full iron but don't expect to win the sprints with it :D Great brick! MORE running tonight? wow

I ran with the bottle until it was gone. I only had the 5 miles planned so I drank it within the first mile.
At times i do run with a bottle and toss it from time to time to each hand. It is very easy to stop swinging the arm that carries the bottle, and that is bad for stride and shoulder.

a water belt is for the fatty doing a 2 day breast walk. eheheheheh nothing against breasts of course.

transition-
I find if I take a moment and rest into a stretch on each leg, my running legs come in much faster, and no lil spooky twitching in my quads.

p.s. I moved my seat forward, and it made my aero position more compact, and my hammies are getting saved for the run much more effectively.

I dunno about that water belt statement. I watched a half iron on tv over the weekend and there were quite a few ELITE athletes on that run with it. NEENER NEENER. Pretty sure they had lower body fat than YOU and definitely not doing a breast walk..cause they had none. hahaha. Its kind of par for the course. how sad. Ya do what has to be done.

Just razzin FF

Good mental note on the stretching. I'll try that. My bike to run has been much easier as of late. I find being super compact is the most powerful for me. I was always so darn stretched out on my sweet blue and lost serious power. I'm very compact on this new one.

ouch! the body fat comment was relative in some way I'm sure....eeegads... that's the last time I will tease a piece of equipment :D

open water swim:
1:49 minutes- and yes there is a story that goes with it. I get dropped off at the lake, about 8 miles from the house (80 minute run is second half of brick).

I walk up to the lake and take this pic:

notice anything? yes its big but what else? Well, after hitting my first two points planning to do a big square pattern around it, I turn into the sun. UH OH! I can't see. As I continued to stroke, and panic mentally, and try to speed up but then run out of breatha bit(OMG!! it was hell!) A 30 minute out, 30 minute back tuned into an eternity and swimming lost and scared,.... as the sun set, I was able to get a bearing on where I needed to go, and I went for it....

oh,, then I ran/walked 8 miles home, with a lesson learned. and that lesson it seems is this- Bring a water belt, because you just might need it for recovery.

I tried running with a water belt and hated it. Halfway through the run I decided to just carry the bottle, but I didn't care for that either. So, up until this week I just keep my laps in the 5-6 mile range and swing past the house for a quick drink. With you and Sparrow promoting the camelbacks, I picked up a waist and shoulder (backpack) camelback. I used the waist one on Tuesday and it is a big improvement on the water belt. I am planning on trying out the backpack style one tomorrow.

Most races have plenty of watering holes along the route for the run don't they?

HAHAHAHHA OMG I LOVE THIS. I'm laughing..uh..with ya FF..not um...at you :) lol. Ah fudge heck yeah I'm laughing at you :D

Thats a good story-real good.

Thats a nice little pond there. Aren't you in alligator territory or something? I'm sure they love confused swimmers ;)

Its easy to get off your mark in open water. Its easy to do even WITH buoys. that was brave of you. Eight miles home, holy cow, that had to suck so bad.

Well its one of those good stories all ironmen need. I'm sure there will be many others. I bet you're hecka tired.

Did you lie to your family about your workout or tell your story in humility? I think I'd have lied. hahahaha

Thank you for affirming my water belt. I've since sold it to a man who likes to walk for breasts. hehe.

j/k

ride 120 minutes RPE 3 - got 35 miles out of it- I am quickly getting more comfortable and strong on "precious" we are gunna get faster.

run: 30 minutes RPE 5 - made 3 miles easy, then just jogged around bliock a couple of times to finish the 30 minutes.

OK... found a gatorade protein wafer that settled good- using it for my sweet treat.

wore just bike shorts and ran with them. Did not like it. felt like a heavy diaper. SO- at event swim to bike I will put on bike shorts over tri shorts for riding (I like the padding) coming off bike I will ditch the bike shorts.

oh-- fell over on bike today for my first time. scraped knee and two fingers, dented my pride, but now that is done.

There are two types of cyclists who use clipless pedals: those who have fallen and those who will fall. Now that you've popped your cherry, I will mock you if it happens again!

I would expect nothing less. Waiting til the very last second to get a foot loose, in case the light does not change is STUPID! it is not dumb, it is STUPID! hehehehe

and G8r you never responded to my post about the 10th? Do you want to hook up? We do not have to ride hard or anything. I am on a 140.6 taining plan, and my event is only 70.3- meaning, the intensity of work out is secondary to hooking up with you.

LOL, I fell over twice last year without clipless pedals! I have come close a couple times already this year. This year is my first experience with clipless pedals.

thanks for the save Drex. I promise to be there for ya, if you have a "moment." :beerchug:

I know you like Peanut Butter FF (and chocolate), and I hope this is okay to post in your journal.

Natural Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

Peanut Butter layer

1 cup Natural Peanut Butter (crunchy)
1- 8 oz. FAT-FREE (Saturated Fat Free type )cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup milk (2% or less)
1 cup Splenda
1 tsp vanilla

Chocolate layer

1/2 cup crushed peanuts
2 cups Splenda
1 cup oil (healthy variety of your choice)
3 eggs
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cups Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour
2/3 cup powdered cocoa
1/4 cup water
2 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°.

Thoroughly grease (O calorie spam or something simuliar) bottom of 9X13 pan.

Mix ingredients for chocolate layer in large bowl with wooden spoon and pour half of mixture into prepared pan. Set aside.

With electric mixer, beat cream cheese till smooth. Add peanut butter and beat till well incorporated. Add all other ingredients for peanut butter layer.

Spoon peanut butter mixture over chocolate layer and spread to edges of pan.

Carefully spoon the last half of chocolate mixture over peanut butter layer, making sure that the entire second layer is covered.

Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes or till inserted knife comes out clean.

Remove from oven and pour one cup each of peanut butter and semisweet chocolate morsels over hot cake. Let melt and then spread with spoon to cover top of cake.

Cool completely and cut into bars

(Given by my wife, I dont know where she got it, I just changed the ingredients to a more healthy variety)

Maybe you can get your sweetie to make a quick batch for ya! :)

Have a great day!

Chillen

(EDIT: I also posted a different recipe for the Oat bars in the COL, you may want to look at.....)

Hey FF, yeah, I think I can do a few miles on May 10. That will have been 5 weeks post-surgery. I'll know for sure by the beginning of May if I am ready and how far I can go.
