Perfect Pushups Review

Morning,

Over the weekend, Sports Authority had yet another 25% off one single item sale....so I indulged myself and actually spent money on the Perfect Pushups thingee.

Now, I adore pushups and pullups and anything that makes me stronger....and I will have to admit, although pricey, the Perfect Pushups does what it claims. Because your hands are raised 3 or so inches off the ground, you can get 'way more flat with your pushups, and easily rotate your wrists as required.

Close-grip pushups were a bit awkward with these for me, but regular/wide-grips worked out very well indeed. I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

Data points,

Barbara

one of the guys I work with (who's in the army reserves ad has regular fitness exams and pushups are part of that exam - and for my entertainment will often drop and give me 50 :) has them -and he says they may doing pushups incredibly easy because it takes all the strain off youor wrists...

I haven't graduated up to them yet - this year :)

Do you mind me asking how much the Perfect Pushups cost? I guess I have weak wrists, as mine always ache something awful after pushups. I've seen these and didn't know if they actually worked. Thanks for the review.

Morning,

Retail price is $39.99. However, every now and then Sports Authority has a 25% off for a single item sale, so I ended up paying around $32 this weekend.

Hope that helps,

Barbara

Like i'd say with a lot of these sorts of products, I'm not a huge fan. Every step you take away from natural actions, and every extra gadget you add takes away from applicable strength. When I boxed (not that people here are boxing), I would say all the time that it doesn't matter if you can bench 600 pounds on a machine if you can't translate that into a natural motion, and have all of the muscles that support and control that motion built up as well.

If your wrists are too weak to do pushups, then train up your grip / wrist strength, don't bypass the problem.

Plus, I wouldn't put too much stock in a system that lists the biceps as a major muscle group that gets worked hard during a pushup.
