Pasta's Bread's Rice??

The only reason people dont really like eating pasta's, breads, and rice is because of all the carbs right?? What does the carbs do to you that are so bad i have no idea on that? I FREAKIN LOVE RICE and would eat a 100% whole wheat bread turkey sandwich everyday but im afraid it will make me gain weight? and I love spaghetti but the pasta????

i eat rice about twice a week. love it. also eat pasta around once a week. i dont think it makes you gain weight at all, as long as you eat it in moderation. i say go for it!

wow, totally missed this post :(

these foods are more than fine as long as you make good choices. the white variety has been stripped of its nutrients. take a good look at the ingredients before buying :)

only the atkins freaks are afraid of carbs. the rest of the free-thinking world should be able to understand that:
1. the body's primary source of energy is carbs
2. its hard to put on much muscle mass without sufficient carbs
3. the brain NEEDS about 90g of carbs a day to function properly
4. if you eat a balanced diet, you're controlling carbs

People who eat nothing but carbs (like many vegetarians and vegans, as well as the majority of the US) end up losing muscle mass because they don't get enough protein.

If you actually measure out portion sizes, you'll find that 2oz of pasta is significantly less than ANY restaurant serves, and in most cases is a lot less than what you would have made if you hadn't measured it out first.

I eat Multigrain pasta and Wild Grain or Brown rice all the time, no adverse effects here. White has all the fiber stripped out although converted white rice pushes the vitamins from the fiber into the germ

omg i love wild rice...I just got these egg noodles *made without the yolks* like for a chicken pasta stuff its whole wheat pasta...anyone have any recipe ideas for me for that pasta?
