Parkour

I know it isnt martial arts, but I didnt know where else to put this.

Does anyone train with Parkour? Any Traucers out there?

yes. UI actually lived in and studied the way for many years. Overcoming my environment- physically mentally and spiritually is what I am ALL about. It is all about the experience.

after multiple injuries and finally a bad skydiving accident, I am now just a "jumper."

sup?

nick Belle ring a bell for you?

Never heard your name before, but I'll bet I could find it easily.

I just got into Parkour this summer, and I am trying to learn some of the more advanced vaults and drops.

I enjoy it very much.

I am not Nick Belle. and as an FYI- he IS "parkour" and his son David Belle is the presence of parkour. and if you watch that video slowly and closely you will see the real essence of parkour.

if you are not in the gym and are not beuilding your legs, and are not learning landings, shoulder rolls, and the value of accepting death- you won't be around long anyways.
the "arts" are all about chakra power, chi, and allowance....

AT this time right now- you are onky a vewier! Can you walk on your hands? have you developed a center of being for balace andagility?

Sorry to be tuff on you, but- because somthing is on a video does not make is Show stuff- it is 2007.

how high is your verticle jump? meaning can you stand next to something that is say waiste high, and just straight up onto it? Have you developed the quad and calve strength to drop 15 feet? do you have the strength to leap into a one hand grab and hang there?

NBS is solid bro--- WHO ARE YOU?? I have plenty of videos of me,,, so don't even get me started "newbie."

hmmmmmm--- hit my hotbutton a bit.

That video NBS gave tyou was a good one.

here is some David Belle-- Nicks son.

Freerunning is where it all comes together.

Hey, and if you feel my intensity- it is there. Probably because a hard landing injury (severly splinted shins, and sciatic nerve damage, commpressed discs, has taken alot of this away from me within the last year,,, I am 39-- so it is about time.

Please take the time to study the history and intent of parkour--- Overcoming, and pushing back physical boundaries is what it's all about man!! Don't miss it with a limited mentality. If you can broad jump 8 feet, then you can broad jump 8 feet, whether it is on the ground or 100 foot in the air between buildings. You overcome your mentals and you can do WAY more than you think.

The chances of you finding experience in this "way" is minimal. The universal power wanted you to hear from me.

And- it will set you up for a life of conquer!!

The thrill of the edge is in knowing it is actually the edge!

Just to let you know, I just started into Parkour.

I know who David Belle is, I just hadn't heard of a Nick Belle.

Yes, I can land and roll properly. No, i cant walk on my hands...yet.

Yes, I can drop 15 feet. No, my vertical jump needs work.

And btw, unless this is an AMAZING stroke of luck, the man in the video isnt NBS. And, I have seen that video many many times. But, Parkour isn't about flips and stuff.

Its about getting around obstacles as quickly and efficiently as possible, whether they are physical or mental.

So dont think that I dont know anything here....

The video is defintately NOT me mainly due to me being scared of heights :D its just a video I found that I thought was really cool!

Holy crap. That video FF posted was insane. Especially when the guy jumped across the roof off that huge tall building. INSANE!

cool.......

you can be the "worldfitness parkour expert" hahahahah there is a very small demand! hehehe

just be cool bro!

and remember something for me- when you ask a question and some totally awesome dude from New Zealand answers you- don't tell him his answer aint good enough for "you and your purity"

as you advance in your discipline I wish you strength and agility!

see me slightly bowing without ever losing eye contact with you.

peace/out

....

No, I agree, that is is very nice video he posted, and that gy is very skilled.

But I was looking for Traucers to post in here
their experiences and stuff.

Dont get all hot an bothered about me just telling him that that really isn't Parkour, its "Urban Ninja"

Parkour is way different.

Talk to some of the guys at WAPK and they will tell you the same thing

I just came across a TV show about Parkour a few weeks ago. Awesome stuff! To me it looks like a Jackie Chan movie, LOL

Has Jackie Chan trained in Parkour before? or has Parkour been influenced by JC style stunts?

HowZit & Aloha Gang!

I truly enjoyed reading this and must acknowledge how the conversation between the starter "Wingman" and the contributor "Flyinfree" were communicated.
I could sense the passion, respect and experience from "Flyinfree" from his no-nonse, staightforward explaination in reference to the subject-matter.

There is a lot of "superfical and shallow" learning throughout the realm of many physical activities. This is due to the high rate of information through technology. "We ain't getting any smarter, we just getting well informed."
There are those who know about something and then there are those who clearly understand it. 'Flyinfree demonstrates this through his words of intention to bring a "truth" raher than just mere knowledge.
i think that's "solid." no need analyze the Turth?

There is a saying in the Hawaiian Island's that one of my "Kumu" -Teacher
shared with me so that I kept an open mind to learn with:
"What is popular may not be good for you.
What is good needs to feel right.
There is no shame in not knowing...There is shame when not asking"
These are guidelines of making sure we understand so be fully alive in what it is we are doing.

Again, thnak you for your sharing of information and learning.
Oh "Wingman" do not only seek from the educated and learned...get in touched with the "experienced" keeps you balanced.

Much Mahalo (thanks) and Healthy New Day!

I can do that often here right now, because it's winter. I can only do so much though either way.
