Pain

I started running in January.

In April I got shin splints and had a long time recovering from that. Now that I finally recovered, my left knee started hurting. Most of the time I can just rest a little and then it's ok. But it bothers me that I can't run non-stop because of some pain.

I know what causes this, it is my 105 kg body that is too heavy (but that's what I'm trying to fix by running), and the fact that I used some bad shoes for the first three months.

Is there any thing I can do to prevent this? I've been trying to run slower and not running too long a distance, and that helps, but I'm eager to improve my run.

Yesterday I ran 8k even though my knee was hurting a bit, but normally I wont pass about 4k because of my knee.

Opposite to the shin splints, though, the pain goes away almost as soon as I stop running.

I hope you have any good ideas for me.

So you are looking for medical advice from a stranger on a forum?

Pain when you run is not normal so I would recommend a trip to your doctor for a proper evaluation.

I'd have to agree with Trek there....

One mistake that some people make is trying to pick up right where they left off, even if they've just been off running for a few months. Make sure that you scale back your distance & time running and build up slowly - the same that you would do if you were just starting to run for the first time.

That being said, I would strongly recommend seeing your physician or physiotherapist to ensure that no damage is being done before you continue running.
