Pain Right above knee after squats

After I did squats today, i got a sharp, acute pain just above and to the left of my knee. Can't explain it very well but i can feel it when i walk. Anyone know what this is?

Probably tonrn something, or you may have strained something, I'd stop what you're doing & go see someone, before you may do more damage. Did you ice, it,raise it . Basic 1st aid? Or are you back at it?

well i didnt do anything after and it just hurt a little bit. it doesnt hurt today and i have been researching good form for squats and i think my form was the problem. I might lay off the squats for a couple days and let it get better.

I'm sorry about possibly hijacking your thread :D

I'm getting a little scared here. I've got the same problem. the only thing is, I can't do an unweighted squat without my right knee collapsing on me. If I only go part way down, as soon as I push to stand, it's all left leg pushing. The pain is in an unusual place for me: it's on top right between the quad and the knee. so it sounds a whole lot like what hoosiers15 is experiencing. What kind of Dr do I need to find to get this checked out?

Rick
