pain in my right gloot...

I'm not sure what it is but I'm assuming it's my back and I've been wanting to go see a doctor about this for a long time but I'll see if anybody here has any ideas...

I usually get the pain when I'm at work, I'm a dishwash/sous chef so I'm doing alot of bending down since the dishwasher isn't a good height for me...But even before I started working I'd get these random pains in my right gloot, I was just walking one day and it felt like somebody actually stabbed me in the ass and I fell over...I told me aunt about it and she said it probabaly has something to do with where my back is connected to my leg...any ideas?

Have it checked out, because it could be a couple of things, but the first thing that stuck out in my mind is Sciatic Inpingment (Sciatica)... (By the way... it's Glutes, not gloots)

it depends on the pain and when you get it. when you sit and you move your back do you also get the pains? it might just be that you pulled your glute muscle from bending all the time. it could also be a deeper muscle (piriformis muscle) that gets irritated and compresses on the n. ischiadicus. to make sure i'd go to a dr. or physio

no It's just when I stand and/or bend down alot...I've notcied at work though when I bend down it's to my right because the dishwasher is on the right and i seem to put most to all my weight on my right foot...this probabalyh as something to do with it..

try stretching your hip flexor ... sounds stuupid but it worked 4 me

hip flexor? how would I go about doing that...?

OMG! I have the exact same problem, in the exact same place. It is NOT nice is it! Unfortunately i havent got much advice for you. Stretching your hip flexors will defo help though. I have suffered with back problems for 3 years now but it was only 12 months ago when this strange stabbing occured while i was walking down the street in my right glute. The pain was deep inside (piriformis muscle) and now it keeps coming back every now and then but only when i walk and always in my right glute. Using a heat pack or getting a massage on the surrounding muscles will defo help to calm down the pain.

People who think they have sciatica or are "diagnosed" with it by a chiro rarely actually have it. They may get some nerve irritation by shortened piriformis muscles as physiodude mentioned, or you could have some gluteus medius adhesions.

Regular massage won't do the trick. Find an ART (active release technique) practicioner in your area. Barring that, get a foam roller for your hip flexors (glute med, TFL [front hip flexor]) and IT bands, and maybe a soft ball to do some trigger point work.

This will patch up the cracks but it doesn't fix the foundation though. You have some deeper issues that are influenced by your lack of flexibility and/or strength, probably compounded by your bad posture from repeated movement patterns. In other words, you will need to fix your foundation at some point or this problem will just keep coming back.

Definately do the hip flexor stretch, and the piraformis as well.

If it is possible though I would get a doc to check you out, especially if it made you actually fall over for no good reason! Sounds like an impingment to me but you never know (and niether do we, cause none of us can check it out or have the degree to say we can).
