Over weight, out of shape.

Yeah, the oil I used had... Yup... 120 per tablespoon... -_- Got me there, dang oil. <,< So, basically, the oil doubled everything else I had -_- Breakfast = Epic fail. Shoulda just cooked the eggs like I did yesterday, with no oil, then tossed the sausage link in with them.

I like chicken, fish, beef, pork, carrots, corn, potatoes, sausage, etc... I love pizza, tacos, hot wings, BBQ meats, cheesy stuff... (xD I know... Not very good things to love.)

I can't eat beef for some reason. I linked my stomach pain and bowel troubles to beef, so, when I cut it out of my diet, I stopped having many of my problems. I'm a lil scared to try again.

It's easier to name what I don't like lol. I'll try anything though. I dislike onions, garlic, asparagus, beets, eggplant, cabbage. I don't like sweet and savory mixed usually. Hmm... Or things that taste really tomato-y.

And I did sign up on fitday, yesterday, I just forgot to log what I ate today >.< I'm an idiot, so I went straight for someone who knows what they are doing lol.

AND, would anyone help me with some suggestions what I could have for dinner?
You're probably going to want some kind of meat, to get some protein. Chicken breast cooked with dry heat (like broiled) is always a good choice, but kind of bland to my way of thinking. Salsa makes it a bit tastier, without adding many calories. Fish is a good choice too. You should eat fish for a few meals a week for the omega-3 oils. Again make it broiled, not fried. Lean beef is also good. Turkey is good. Eat 3 ounces of meat.

Now you want some starchy food. Boiled or baked potatoes without glopping them up with butter, cheese, or sour cream. Mashed is not so good. I like sweet potatoes better than regular potatoes. Pasta is all right too. Get the whole wheat kind. Rice is okay.

Vegetables. Find some vegetables you like or can at least tolerate and eat lots of them. I like to make a huge salad with things like raw broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, lettuce, snap peas, etc. and put some low calorie dressing on it. Corn is all right but not too much and you need the less starchy vegetables, too.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will have to try those. Maybe put some veggies like carrots and maybe a few potatoes in with the meat as it broils or something. My mom's done that before, but she used gravy, so I doubt that was good, but maybe minus the gravy.

I just had some of that V-8 V-fusion, the strawberry banana kind. It's actually pretty good for what it is. You can't really taste any of the veggies, just the strawberry mostly.

I didn't have dinner today, all I ate was what I had listed earlier, and another orange a few hours ago. Oh, and a small piece of chocolate with cashews and raisins in it. That sent my stomach into pain and angered the bowel gods. I can't have chocolate obviously xD

Not having dinner was probably a bad thing, but meh, I wasn't hungry, I was busy fixing my rusty old exercise bike. Its a lil rusty still, but it works. Hopefully using that is a good thing. Is it? And if so, how many calories can I burn using it for say... 30 minutes?

How many calories you burn on your exercise bike will depend on how hard you pedal. You can find charts on the internet that show calories burned during exercise. Google it.

I just did, thanks. According to the one I found ( Bodybuilding.com - Calories Burned While Exercising. )

I could burn 408 calories on a stationary bike in general. (I have an old one with a friction wheel and etc, not a powered one.) I could only manage 10 minutes today, my thighs started to ache and I was sweating. Granted, I wasn't going for light effort, I would say moderate at least, but a few times during the 10 minutes, I pushed as fast as I could to keep from quitting. But yeah, 10 minutes = 100 and some calories I think. Not too bad for only eating an orange today. I'll keep at it until I can go 30 minutes straight though.

Thanks. Hehe, then, I plan on doing that until I can actually go 30 minutes a day in one sitting, then I may even do that twice. But yeah, I'll probably go back after each meal or something if I can take it. Would that be a good thing?

That would be a very good thing ! Me and you are in the same boat dude. I myself am walking my long arse driveway 5 times a day.

Not sure if you have any interest in it but at 6'7", seems like you could play some pickup basketball? I am only 6'3" and I could still dominate kids because of my weight when it comes to rebounding :D Burns a lot of calories too. Also, Hackysack is another fun way to burn away the fat.

Good luck man.

I could if I actually had someone to play against. I live in the middle of nowhere, with no neighbors that are teens. Another thing I have to watch is any real physical contact sports. That heart condition I mentioned earlier limits that, so like... No football, or any sport where I can get hit or tackled, etc... Could kill me. But thanks for the suggestions.

I just had my... early dinner/late lunch. Same thing I had yesterday, 2 eggs (mixed with water, not milk as some people do), green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, one lean turkey sausage link, so, when my stomach settles, looks like I go back to the stationary bike! (I didn't use much oil this time, only like a teaspoon so my sausage didn't stick and burn when I fried it)

Edit: Whew, JUST finished doing ten minutes on the stationary bike. This time however, I wore my sweatshirt/hoodie while I did it. I am in fact, sweating, my legs feel all tingly and funky to move and I certainly increased my heart rate while doing it xD Hopefully that knocked out some of the calories I had for my lunch.

Your doing great man. I really recommend finding a hackysack when someone goes into town next. Thats awesome you are on the exercise bike dude ! Keep it up.

I have tried hackysack long ago, but I wasn't very good at it. It would be fun, as it isn't stressful to my aorta and such, but last I tried I sucked at it xD Maybe I'll pick one up and try again.

And I really want to thank you for chatting back and forth with me here and giving suggestions. It motivates me more to continue this and lose weight. I don't feel so alone in the battle I guess lol.

Hmm... I got two 5lbs dumbbells laying around somewhere, where did I put them... Those aren't too heavy, but it might help if I alternate between them or double them in one hand or something. I can lift them, but bench pressing a lot is a baaaaaaaad idea for my health, my doctor told me that if I ever tried bench pressing a lot, it could cause my aorta to literally explode at a weak part xD.

Key with hackysack is : A) flexibility of your legs, starting with the two basic inward kicks L/R. Stretching is key & I recommend you do it even it you don't dig hackysack. It will help you on your bike exercises, prevent your legs tightening up so quick & avoid injury's . B) A pair of shoes with a decent surface to hit the sack.

No problem man, I am glad I can be of some help ! Hopefully we can both look back on this & smile as two skinny dudes !

Perhaps soon start your own weight loss journal on here? Already got mine going http://weight-loss.fitness.com/weight-loss-diary/36860-tgd17s-battle-bulge.html --- Its really helping me.

My idea for a good dinner. It's very filling, high protein and low in carbs.

Buy a 5 oz can of tuna fish. Get some fat free italian dressing. Also some lettuce (go for spring mix, which actually has nutrients, unlike iceberg mixes).

Mix a little lemon pepper seasoning into the tuna. Take a tbsp or two of the italian dressing and put into a nice pile of lettuce. Top the salad with the tuna and

VOILA!

A simple, low cal, low carb, high protein meal that is very inexpensive (~$2 per meal)

Bon apetite.

This is very good, I have had it quite a few times. Even throw in a fresh tomato :)

TheGreatDane17, thanks for the tips. I'm going to start one of those diary things tonight. T_T My thighs hurt so bad xD Only did 25 minutes total on that stationary bike. 10 minutes after lunch, 10 after dinner, then 5 after a snack this evening.

Rockthea4, thanks for the recipe, I usually don't like tuna, and I avoid it like the plague. BUT, being thin is better than not eating healthy food, regardless of personal taste. Food is food, and as long as it's healthy, I can stomach it. Somethings I just can't though, like onions >.< or pickled beets. They make me want to vomit. (Then again, I can't handle chocolate or beef, then my bowels flare and I'm in pain for 3 hours or so. I think I have IBS or something similar.)

To make the diary! *Hobbles off sorely*

Well everyone, I am extremely demotivated now, and just got over contemplating suicide. I know this isn't the place to discuss that, but it looks like I'll have to stop exercising for now.

Due to Marfan Syndrome, and a little research of why I can't breathe right, I discovered a lil thing that fits what has been troubling me for the last year. It's where little blisters form on your lungs, then burst, and it causes air to leak from your lung and into your chest cavity, putting pressure on the lung, then, if its bad enough or whatever, it can cause the lung to fully collapse. So, I'm officially terrified, worried and depressed.

I don't have the money to get a check up right now, or surgery if needed, I don't have insurance. I just feel horrible, so, yeah... Not to be a whiner, but every time I get my hopes up, something kills them. Last time it happened, iI was informed by SSI that i would receive $300 a month for benefits. Next day? "No, we're sorry, there was a mistake."

And on top of imminent death possible, my legs still hurt like hell. Gah... I just hate my life right now.

Food Plan

Hi,

Just been looking through and reading some of the posts. I am very overweight myself and just wanted to chipin with some healthy food ideas for The Obese One. Having a small serve of grilled fish or chicken with a salad for your evening meal. Also try eating a couple of pieces of fruit a day and maybe a yogurt or a small serve of ice cream. I am trying to just eat normal healthy foods, no fad diets. I myself hate exercising but I am going to start walking everyday with my son. Just a short stroll up the street until I get a bit fitter, then I will walk a bit further. Maybe if you were to walk with a partner you might enjoy it more. Hope this helps, just keep up the good work.

I am truly sorry Seth. There is no reason to stop eating healthy, even if you can't exercise. You should still be able to walk at a moderate pace yes?

Thanks, and yeah, I guess so. I'm just not sure putting a lot of stress on my lungs by breathing hard and what not would be a good idea. I'm still going to eat healthy, it just kinda saddened me that I was all for going on the stationary bike like that, and hopefully tightening my thighs up a bit. But yeah... Guess losing weight either way is good enough.

Gonna hold off on starting that diary topic though. Not in the mood right now, unfortunately.
