Over 2,000 calories in a Drink!

I put a post up on my facebook page yesterday about a Milkshake that has over 2,000 calories in it! While to me a milkshake is definitely something to steer clear of if you are looking to lose weight, this post got a lot the clients here at my studio talking and made me realize that not everyone knows how many calories can be in some of their favorite foods.

So I guess the point I'm trying to make is to really educate yourself on what you put in your body. As I tell all my clients, it takes a lot of work in the beginning to educate yourself and find how many calories are in the foods you eat, but the good news is once you know you know forever. Especially if you eat the same types of foods a lot.

So I urge you find out the calorie content of your food and be sure to look at the serving size so you know the exact amount you are taking in. I have a lot of clients over the years and I have heard every excuse in the book. One of my favorites is "I don't have time to figure out how many calories are in foods". With all of today's resources with the internet I find it hard to believe. Cut out a half hour of TV watching and go online each day to figure what you took in today and what you are going to take in tomorrow. You can go to any major search engine and type in "how many calories in bla bla bla" and tons of sites will pop up and give you the info.

Like I said earlier you won't have to do this the rest of your life, once you get a good grasp you just know. And trust me if you don't spend the time now to figure it out now, you will probably spend the time later going to the doctor, sick in the hospital or even worse...
