"Outdoor Walking" Vs "Treadmill Walking"

I would say outdoors. The only time I use the treadmill is if it's at night for safety reasons or the weather.

In your opinion which is better?

Totally up to the individual and both has advantages, if you like indoor workouts, by all means do it. Me, given a choice of a nice day or indoor, I'd walk outdoors hands down. Only time I ride the cycling trainer is when it's wet outdoors or night.

I don't think it makes much difference in regards to how many calories you burn or how good the exercise is for you. In doubt, overall, I would go for outside - fresh air, sunlight - all good stuff.

Personally, I prefer indoors, since I am very scared of falling (arthritis in both feet and a botched surgery on my ankle), so I find using the treadmill a lot safer.

I'm a bit of a data freak when I work out I need to know at each stage how many miles I've done, what speed, how many calories burnt etc. which is why using a treadmill suited me but there are GPS based apps such as run keeper and mapmyrun which will do the same for outdoor walking/running if that's what floats your boat.
