So, Im kinda new to all this weight loss stuff...and i was wondering,

What are your guys' opinions on slimfast....?

I did that when I was 18. The drinks are nasty. The bars, I thought were really good. So I ate 4 instead of one and defeated the purpose. Then decided that whole plan sucked.

I think they actually make you crave more food, more sweets.

all of the above.

Better to spend your money on healthy foods, whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats and learn the right portion control.

Your not going to live on slimfast shakes and bars your whole life right? Think about it, if you use slimfast to lose weight it may work but when you go off of it and start eating real food again your probably going to gain again

I'm sure it works. It's a low calorie plan just like Special K and all those other diet plans. I don't see why you can't just eat real food for the same weight loss effect. It's cheaper, tastes better and is probably better for you in general. I'd avoid it, personally.

eww..gah. GAS!

everyone is right, it doesn't teach you how to eat, and yes you might lose weight at first, but then what.

I suggest stay away from it.

I thought the drinks weren't bad at all. I'm vegetarian and it's rough finding protein, those shakes have a fair amount in them. I didn't do the slim fast plan, I just used them as meal replacement shakes for breakfast as part of my diet. They did keep me full until lunch but for what you're getting they're terribly expensive even if I was only drinking one a day. Cut out the middle man and buy yourself a blender and some powdered shake mix.

I've tried them, wasnt at all bad but i prefer just eating healthier 'food', nothing wrong with adding them occasionally into your diet in my opinion!

My mom used to drink Slim-Fast when I was younger. One time, while she was at work, I thought I would sneak one of them and try it out. As soon as it hit my lips, I started spitting everywhere. It tasted like chocolate milk that had been mixed with dirt and cottage cheese.

No, I would not recommend it, just from the terrible taste alone.
