OOOKKKKK, I finally admit I need help

I swear we are one and the same!!! I have been going back and forth ont his weight loss thing ever since I started having kids ( 3 and no more)!!! This is the first time that I've really gotten serious and am determined to lose the weight. I get what you're saying about how other people might try to sabotage you when they see you attaining something they don't think they will. My husband is at a normal weight and can eat whatever he wants. Sometimes he prevents me from working out (in the past) by going to the gym and leaving me with no one to watch our kids. Or he'll go out and leave me in the same situation. Or he'll bring home ice cream sundaes, knowing my weakness is anything sweet and bad for me. THis time I'm not gonna let him or anyone else get in my way. I know that you will reach your goal. You seem determined and ready to make it happen. Just remember to love yourself and stick with it. I know by coming here, you'll get plenty of support and advice. Keep up the good work.

Back again :)

Blah 7997 Its actually started on my first Page of this thread LOL, (although it doesnt look like it lol) this is my update. I was looking at everyone elses and it seemed they just added on to their own thread. So I will do that until someone tells me better. Ajoy soo true, and thats the worst when the people you think should be helping or encouraging dont care.

Before I say ANYthing I just wanna say Thank you guys SOOOO much for responding and sending the well wishes. I have been very discouraged the last 2 weeks and haven't wanted to do ANYthing healthy, but mourn. BUT I realize my sweet baby girl would never want that, she was only 6 months but she was as fiesty as anyone I've ever met LOL. I have to keep healthy for my LaReina, actually NOW my new goal (one of them anyway) is to get a flat tummy not only because its just better for your health, but because I want to get a tattoo of my niece's footprints somewhere on my abs or side, you cant be nasty and flabby with a cute lower body tat. the second goal requires a bathing suit LOL. Due to all the things going on (i.e my niece and my grandma dying, my divorce, my sisters divorce ALL in the same year) my mother is taking my sister and I on a Carnival cruise and let me say I CANNOT wait, she wants to do it next October (09) so that means I need to be extra diligent in my commitment to this. Even if Im not skinny I want to atleast look at myself in the pics and be happy at what I see and not be like um, who is that LOL. Im trying to get up like I was to keep motivated, but you know how those thought/excuses to sit and watch TV just pop up and try to stay? Thats where I am right now, especially after recent events. So my question to YOU guys, anyone have any extra suggestions on getting off your butt and not sulking and just DOING it? I wish I had a gnome to pop up at workout time to kick me LOL... YOU GUYS ARE FUNDERFUL:seeya:

First off, Sorry you and "yours" had such a challenging year! Pain, sorrow, remorse, shame, embarressment, and loss are extremely strong emotions to deal with!! Congrats on your attempts and attitude so far.
Cruises are amazing. I've been on four of them, and can't wait till the next. What a great motivator to keep you headed in the right direction. You are, being here is just one step in the right direction. As for a magic pill, or tool, to "get up off our butts and do this".... nothing exsists!! BUT, I must say, once you start keeping self promises, once you FORCE yourself to do things you would really not like to do, you will know how great you can feel about yourself! That, is what keeps you headed in the right direction. It's a struggle, and a climb the entire way, but the steepest stretch is right at the start. DO IT. Make this year one of the best you've had, especially after one of the worst, I'm sure/hope, you've ever had! Good luck to you, and take every thing as a small step in the right direction. :)

Yeah man its UNbelievable, sometimes when I'm on my stepper it gets so hard to concentrate because you're thinking what ifs, I can'ts and this is stupid right now... I try my best though. But I have to remind me my ex is trash... he never deserved me (lol helps keep my weight lifting strong) and my Reina never has to deal with my sisters ex's family EVER again. All of us deserve better, and although it won't fall in our lap I feel our change is coming.... its just being in the middle of the hurt that gets to you ya know? I'd just like it behind me and I'm impatient.... But you're right there is NEVEr a magic anything, you have to work for anything worth having... I need to search my Bowflex catalog for a punching bag now ....LOL, I also need to up my AB work. I see something yummy under my shirt that needs to hurry up LOL (thats sounds odd, but I do LMAO....:blush5:)

Thanks so much Hun:iagree:

I'm with JZ in that there is no magic to this at all. It comes as little tiny victories over and over is all.

I hear ya on working out too, especially doing stationary cardio. I hate, it hate it, hate it! I just make myself a few of good playlists on my iPod and roll with 'em. The other thing I do is switch things up. I can't always convince myself to stay on one type of stationary cardio device for long. So I'll do 20 minutes on an arc trainer, then 20 on a treadmill, 20 on a bicycle, etc... Cross train and the time goes by better sometimes.

BTW, upping the ab workout... don't fall into the trap of doing ridiculous amounts of ab work to see "six pack abs". The fact of the matter is that until total body fat % drops down overall, the six pack is an illusion. I'm not saying don't work them... tight muscles are nice to have, but work the whole body along with them, and keep up on the cardio.

I tell everyone I have abs of steel, they are just wrapped in foam rubber.

BTW, I bet you have something yummy under your shirt... :biggrinjester:

Sorry... you were warned about me...

hey hey hey

Hey darlin....

I just saw this message...sorry it took so long to respond...you know what i did the other day? I rounded up some young people and we went to the basket ball court, shot some hoops and played frisbee... we had some uninvited guest join in the fun but we all really had a good time... we stayed out for about an hour and a half and then i drove the kids home...it was then that I realized that you can stay busy if you have kids involved...the grade ranges were elementary, middle and high school and we had fun good clean fun....maybe you can think of some kids younger than yourself that could use a good role model as yourself and see what you can do to help them burn off some fuel...in the process, your mind will be off of your problems, you'll burn calories and you'll make some young persons day a little or alot better...and I have a cruise to make in late 09 as well..maybe we can encourage each other...whatcha think?...and u know I'm wearing a swim suit as well...lol...we can do this!...catch ya later...good night:waving:

Women's Health and Oxygen are two of my favorite fitness magazines. I even grab Men's Health from time to time... not only because I want my husband to read through it, but they have a lot of great info in there too.

I have been Gone FOREEVER... I need a spanking, Life Got in the way temporarily of my fitness. But I'm here to stay at this point. How is everyone ? :)
