Hi guys. I am a guy.. this may sound stupid or embarassing and I don't know who to ask, so..let me ask you.

Is it necessary to wear underwear while exercising? I don't know if it's safe for us guys to not wear one.

PS : I know I said only read this if you're a guy. But if you're a girl and read this and were just curious, and you know that you have some feedback, then I would gladly listen, even though it's a little embarassing for me.. But, now that you've already read it, just tell me what you think.

Thank you.

Seriously? I know I'm not going to work out without everything secured. I can't believe this would even cross your mind.

Dude, this thread is like 13 months old!!

How do people resurrect shit this old?! How far back did you go?! :p

I dunno, i think its a valid question, even if its really old. Others must have been clearly looking for the answers to find it?

I'll weigh in,
I wouldn't recommend doing any cardio without underpants on, I find that my umm meat and potatoes are sore if I even just wear boxers to run in, let alone full commando. I guess I don't see a problem with just lifting weights without underwear on, though I would prefer to have that extra layer between my shorts and my "wedding tackle" for sanitary reasons alone..wearing underpants or not, if you drop a 40 lb dumbbell on your naughty bits, it's gonna hurt...

Sunflower, I think the problem is that when you view topics, at the very bottom the site lists similar topics that could be from any timeframe. I guess people naturally tend to click on those too :)

Heheh good question my friend. I would advice you wear some underwear preferably something that keep it in place but is comfortable and not too tight either. You want to feel comfortable and not get too distracted during your workouts so best not to have it dangling about. I have been a personal trainer for 13 years now and this is actually a question I have been asked about before surprisingly. What you wear during your workout will have a impact trust me.
