Only 5 days till Vacation & I screwed up

Little background info to start. Since Aug.16 I have been exersising vigourously (using turbo jam) daily (haven't missed a day). And I have been eating very healthy and only between 1200-1500 cal. per day. I wasn't having cravings of anything and I could tell I was getting thinner.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went out for wings, I ate 15 wings, later that night I ate a chocolate bar, had some cookies and candy, and had some wine. I don't know what my calorie intake was for yesterday, but is was full of fat and over 2000cals. (I did still exercise that day though).

I leave for my getaway with my boyfriend (2 year anniversay-romantic getaway) on August 29, WEDNESDAY! 5 days away! I need to look my best, I bought this new bikini over the summer that I have not worn yet. My boyfriend says I look great, but I'm not toned or tanned (I choose not to tan for skin health reasons). I don't have a prutruding stomach but it's not firm and I have big thighs and curves-but no boobs. I am feeling good now that I've been exercising, I can tell the diet and exercise are working but the slip up yesterday, really brought my spirits down. I've read that 1 binge day isn't going to pack on any inches or pounds, but I still don't feel that I am in the clear.

Grrrr, so frustrating.

Awe...

Don't let that get you down. One day of eating like that isn't going to harm you - it's when you eat like that day after day.

Actually when you are limiting your cals and then you have a major calorie day, it actually will give your metabolism a little shake-up to help boost weight loss.

Turbo Jam sounds like fun, what is it?

Take care and good luck!

Turbo Jam is really fun actually. I thought it had potential to be dumb, but I saw it at my local "As Seen on TV" store for $50 so I picked it up. I am VERY happy that i did! It's kinda hard to explain-it's a mix between aerobics/dance/kickboxing/fun. I had never done anything involving a dvd, my tv, and aerobics before. Its made by beachbody.
If you go to google search engine and type in Turbo Jam, one of the 1st llinks is to the website.

Im sorry to say this. But 1200-1500 calories per day is not healthy. Mostly the amount of calories are based on your weight, height and age...But even if youre light, that low amount of calories seem very very low.

I hear you. It seems that when I am dieting and exercising, everybody seems to bring me food. They bring Pizzas tey bring beer they bring Chocolate cakes, they bring KFC, they bring EVERYTHING and they even invite me to eat out. This pissed me off.

When I am not dieting, they dont offer anything, maybe a candy but thats it.

Don't let temptations put your down. One day of bad dieting is nothing, maybe you can work at the gym harder the next day and you will feel better.

Keep up the good work!!!!!!

Keep Up the Good Work

:jump: One day isn't bad if you can get back with your program. Someone mentioned your cals are low? I thought that is based on age, height, weight and activity level? Did you tell us those stats?

Hey I can tell your bf likes you, and its a good time when your together but do you hang loose and do whatcha feel like when he is in your atmoshere? check it out girl?!! Hint:get him to get with the support 'your' trip program!!

Not healthy for who? I think 1200 cals are on the low side for a woman who isn't very active. But, if you are only working out an hour or less per day - you shouldn't be consuming mega calories. As long as you are eating nutritious foods and not junk - it should be fine.

Unless you of course have some evidence backing this up that we all should be gorging ourselves on food just because some magical number hasn't been reached. If you are full, you shouldn't eat more... I've read enough to know better. I might not always yield to my own advice, but I'm versed enough in different opinions to know better.

In fact I was just reading an article in Reader's Digest last night about weight loss - and it says the same things over and over...eat the more filling nutritious foods w/fiber and nutrients that are going to be more filling and not so full of calories. It also said to eat smaller meals though out the day (which is a big thing now - Body for Life recommends this as well.)

We don't know what she is eating - if she is eating 1200-1500 worth of donuts and candy bars - of course she isn't eating enough because she isn't fueling her body with good nutrition. But as long as she is balancing her nutrition - she shouldn't gorge herself.

Whatever happened to eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full?
