One thing that makes me mad

I wasn't sure where to post this and I figured this was a good spot. I have been working out and eating right and doing all the things I am suppose to do. I haven't lost alot of weight but I have lost body fat %. I am really proud of what I am doing and my acomplishments so far and I plan to stick with it but here is what makes me mad...

FRIENDS AND FAMILY...
The people who I would expect to get encoragement and kodos from are the ones who seem to always have something negitive to say to me. What is up with that? examples... I have been eating small healthy meals like six meals a day. I come to work at about 12 after a really good work out at the gym. It is a family business so I work with my dad. I have half a sandwich for lunch then eat the other half around 3pm. My dad sees me eating the other half of my sandwich at 3 and says in a teasing kind of voice YOU are eating again. I am like yeah this is the other half of my lunch. Then today he is like did you go to the gym I said yes he says I guess you still haven't lost any weight. I just told him I stopped weighing my self. I mean what is up with that. It just makes me so mad. I mean it is alot of little stupid things like that and he probly doesn't realize it upsets me but it does. I have been working so hard for the last 3 and a half weeks and it is almost like they want me to fail sometimes.

I won't fail I am sticking with it no matter what, but does anyone else get this from the people who are closest to them? My boyfriend has been really supportive and even joined the gym last week but he is about the only one.

(UHG Family!) LOL

I don't get it from my family but I get it from people I work with all the time. People are always making jokes about how much I eat for such a small person. A lot of people are just ignorant about what you should really do to lose bodyfat and get healthy. You can see it every day when you're at the gym...you see people doing hundreds of crunches with a big belly, you see people pedaling away on the recumbant bike for hours and not losing weight, etc.

Is your dad healthy and in shape? I find that people that give me a hard time about it usually just feel guilty that they're not doing anything to improve their health. I've had lots of coworkers grab some junk food from the snack bar and have to justify it to me...I don't CARE what they eat...I just choose not to :)

Anyway, I'm glad your boyfriend is supportive. That's very important. And everyone here is too :D

That's why, Robin, you're doing what you're doing for YOU. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or says. It's YOUR body and YOUR life. Keep up the great work.

You said you've lost in your bf%. if i were you I would totally figure up how many pounds of fat I'd lost and tell everyone. I mean, you worked hard, be proud about it and maybe once they know you've lost 10 (or whatever number) pounds of fat they will stop with the extreme rudeness!

Good luck!

You just have to ignore it. You have hopefully done your research and know what your doing. Many people think you should only have 3 meals a day and not 5-6 small ones, which is by far the healthy way too eat.

I get people trying to convince me what im doing is wrong when they have no idea what their talking about. eg. "Stop eating so much (insert food)" which is protein packed or "you don't need to workout your whole body, who cares about legs", "You don't need cardio forget about it". lol

Try to explain to them why your doing what your doing, most the time its a lost cause, but after around the 30th time they may pick up.

Thanks you guys. I was thinking that this morning I was like who cares what they say because I am not doing it for them I am doing it for myself! It is funny cause the ones that do it exspecialy my dad are in really bad shape themselfs. Anyways thanks again everyone

Next time, just stare at him like he's from another planet. When you can't hold the stare any longer, take your meal and walk away.

Oh the al too familiar Friends and Family stuff......I've had a big deal with them too. The solluttion to all of this: play the deaf person, keep on track with your diet and exersise and the results will become more visibe over time. At one point they have no choice but to admit "hey, you are beginning to look pretty lean here"

And when your pretty much fed up with all of it (after all you're still only human) just think like this:
1. You are taking good care of your body, most people (including your family and friends) aren't: They still eat the junk food (it isn't called junk for nothing ;) ) and their daily exersise consist of pushing the buttons on the remote ;)
2. They are probably a bit jaleous that you've made the decision and are able to STICK with it too.
3. They WILL be jaleous after they see the results. :D The best part, in my opinion.

So lighten up, keep on going and look forward to the idea that in the near future, they'll all be like "woah" when they see you ;D
