Hey all
After lurking in this thread for the past few weeks, I've decided to join up.
Here's a little about me. I'm a guy, 35 years old. In May I tipped the scales at 220 lbs and didn't like that at all...I've been around 200 for several years.
I decided, enough is enough.
I'm down to 194 right now...dropping a couple pounds per week, typically.
My techniques are simple:
Right now I am doing Mondays and Wednesdays, 1 hour with a personal trainer...he's an MMA/Boxing trainer and its a total ass-kick workout, and I feel amazing after.
I go to the gym on my own 3-4 times per week in addition to that...focusing on simple weight moves and some cardio on the machines.
For weight training I prefer to use barbells/dumbells versus the fancy weight machines.
My real secret to my success (so far!), is that I don't focus on some big goal, like losing 40 lbs, 50 lbs, 60 lbs etc. Those numbers seem so freaking big.
Instead, I just try and lose the next pound. One pound at a time. Its very easy to look in the mirror every morning and ask myself, "do you have what it takes to lose one pound?"
And every day, the answer is YES!!!
