Hello all! I've browsed through recent posts and felt the need to comment but since I couldn't decide which topics to answer first, I thought it might be a good idea to start a new one and offer my input!
I strongly believe people struggle loosing weight since they don't eat according to their metabolism, according to their nutritional needs that are based in one’s genes, not in some philosophy or belief. There are probably 86 "diets" now on the market claiming to be the one and only, but neither of these are customzied for your unique metabolism.
Since we are unique on a biochemical level as we are in our fingerprints! What works for one person may have no effect on another person and may make a third person worse!
Different nutrients affect different people in different ways. Health and well-being depend on the rate, amount and quality of energy production in the body, which in turn are dependent on the fuel available through diet and supplementation.
Food has the power to heal. But it also has the power to make you ill if it is wrong for your metabolism. In my opinion, as a Clinical Nutritionist and Metabolic Typing Advisor, I can assure you that calorie counting is NOT the answer. It is not only what you eat, it is also in what proportions you consume your macro-nutrients ( proteins, fats, and carbohydrates ) that will allow you to maximize your energy, control your weight and reach optimal health.
As an example, traditional Eskimos thrive on very large quantities of meat and fat, while people born in the tropics stay healthy eating fruits and grains and other light vegetarian fare. For decades, scientists have observed that people who eat according to their genetically based dietary needs have virtually no incidence of disease or weight problems.
In my practice I've continuously seen people loose weight once they started eating for their metabolism and eliminated "blocking factors" like reactive foods, heavy metal toxicity, hormonal imbalance, gastrointestinal pathogens. Most people these days go through their lives with a heavy toxic build up that stays against any kind of improvement in their health. Adress that, the root of your problems and everything will fall into place, including your weight!
I hope this will help!
Good luck everybody!
