Hi my name is curleebrowneyes and I live in Florida. I am looking for support in my weight loss challenge. I was always active in working out eating healthy but in the past year I have gained a lot of weight. I am a compulsive eater and always have been since I was little. I also have a tendency to go out and drink every weekend.

I am turning 40 this year. In november my doctor told me that my triglicerides are very high, so he put me on medications. Well I didn't listen to him until just recently.

My problem is the motivation and anxiety. Finally my friend who also wants to lose weight, came up with a plan for the next three months. We started two weeks ago. I weighed myself and found out that I had gained and weighed 214. Not good.

I now weigh 207. I am eating less and snacking on healthy things, drinking a lot of water. For exercise i do at least half an hour of cardio and weights. I find myself not motivated to go to the gym and know the steps so I do it at home with my ipod.

I hope you guys can help me. my goal is to lose 40 by november. the goal with my friend is to lose at least 20 pounds.

Welcome and glad to have you here. This is a great place for motivation and support. I am not a compulsive eater so I can't relate to you there but I can relate to wanting to lose weight for medical reasons. Diabetes runs in my family and I was so scared that I was going to get it if I didn't lose weight, that and the extra weight made my back hurt so much. I think starting in baby steps works best. What I did was first I changed my eating habits. I incorporated all the healthy foods and make sure I had lots of healthy snacks. Then because of my work hours I started eating a bigger lunch and a lighter dinner then when I had my eating habits in order I began exercising. Most of my weight loss has been from power walking. I do exercise at home too with weights and some videos. I joined Weight Watchers at work a few months ago and I found that writing a journal every day really helps and it teaches you what works for you and what doesn't and it really keeps you accountable for what you put in your mouth everyday. Consistency pays off and then the weight comes off and you start to look better and feel better. It is definitly worth it. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the tips. Diabetes does run in my family. Keep up the great work. Journaling is also helping me. I never used to do it, but I am now. I have a friend that is teaches weight watchers and is giving me some tips. I have done it online before. Good job on the weight loss.

Yes my fear is not able to do it consistently, but I'm working on. I've done great so far and am getting some support at work and at home and my friends.

That is great that you started a plan with your friend.. that always makes it easier.. The motivation is always the hardest part, at least it was for me. Once I started going to the gym for about 2 weeks I really noticed a change in my energy level and it became a habit to go. Just push yourself hard to do it and you will really feel great! Glad that you are here :)
