older newbie - looking for help

guys

i'm 45 and about 2 stone over weight
have got a home gym and treadmill

am happy to diet and do as much cardio as necessary to lose weight and slim down.

love to weight train and build mussle too - but not as priority (weight loss !)

can you help with a suggested program with sufficient rest and recouperation.

i work in construction (on tools) every day - so am quite fit and strong (though need to be much fitter )

Rob, you might try a book called 'Younger Next Year'. It's meant for guys over 50 but it applies equally well to 45 year olds. Written by a retired lawyer and a doctor. It covers what you need to do and why. Very motivating and very interesting.

Lots of sound advice about diet, cardio (high and and low heart rate) and weights (VERY inportant).
