Old School New Body

Created by Steve and Becky Holman, the Old School New Body program addresses the scientific fact when we reach 40 years of age the aging process accelerates markedly if we don't provide our bodies with the right nutrients and proper exercise it needs.

Most other health and weight loss programs out today are targeted to the wide cross section of the general public. Perhaps the creators think of casting a wider net to catch more fish for themselves. Whereas the Old School New Body Program is targeted to a specific age group of 35 and up. This is a package of diet and exercise that slows down the aging process and gets you looking up to 10 years younger.

Steve and Becky advocate 5 rules to best fight the aging process: Forget low fat diets, Stop spinning (any form of endurance training), Stop blaming everything on old age, Avoid chronic dehydration and Work out less. And all this is encompassed in what Steve and Becky call the F4X training system. F4X stands for Focus 4 Exercise. The entire system comprises an exercise and diet program that requires only 90 minutes of your time per week. It is split into 3 phases that depend on your own current fitness level and your chosen fitness goals.

Phase 1 is called the F4X Lean and this is where everybody begins. It introduces to you basic routine of exercise and meal plan and helps you shed excess body fat.

Phase 2 is called the F4X Shape and this phase is optional. It builds on the higher levels of health and fitness you achieved in phase 1 to build muscle and tone up. The exercise and meal plan are modified to help you build muscle and tone up.This phase is for those not content with just losing weight but want to go the next level.

Phase 3 is called the F4X Build and again is optional. In this phase the exercise and meal plan is modified to help you build some serious muscle. You can expect 15-30lbs of muscle.

The Final Word:

We all are aware that health care costs are rising alarmingly. This is a real health and weight loss program for real people with real lives and offering real results. For less than the price of some fake anti-aging lotions and potions this program can get you fit, healthy and looking up to 10 years younger for far less cost.

What an absolute load of tosh. As a member of the target age range this is somewhere between annoying and downright insulting.

The part that aggrevates me most here I am going to break down into pieces. Theirs is in italics.

Steve and Becky advocate 5 rules to best fight the aging process:
Forget low fat diets,
This should be defined by your doctor not someone selling a lifestyle package. If you are carry a bit of excess and just need to tighten up, normal balance, but if the doc says cut the fat you do it.
Stop spinning (any form of endurance training), Why should we. Being older doesn't mean we have no stamina, I have known biathletes, cyclist, swimmers and marathon runners who draw pension and make most teenagers look unfit.
Stop blaming everything on old age, Then why would we need your product? This part is right but if we read this and took notice it would mean being intelligent enough not to spend money on an age specific program.
Avoid chronic dehydration True for any age, irrelevant.
and Work out less. You condecending (insert expetive here) kindly do some research on people who have acheived incredible things in their later years like Sir Randulph Heines who ran marathons on each continent after heart bypass. If you have taken care of yourself enough to still have a fully functioning heart and enjoy training, keep doing it, and if you have time and love it do more. As long as your health allows go for it.

It is split into 3 phases that depend on your own current fitness level and your chosen fitness goals. 90 minutes a week? I do almost twice that just running, and one of the things I am looking forward to in retirement is more time to train, not less. And those phases are what most beginners would go through. The only difference with age is you have to consider that you could have spent more time letting your body roll downhill so have further to push it back up and have to overcome more lack of ability at the start.

If you want to believe that age is a major factor do go ahead, personally I get fed up of hearing it and have seen too much evidence to the contrary.
Age does have an effect but it is minor and comes up on you a lot slower than many think. If you drink like a fish, eat junk and your version of exercise is changing channels and walking to the car, it's your lifestyle not your age which has made you unhealthy.
A few years ago I was watching a mother having to start looking after her daughter again. The daughter had spent most of her time for close to 3 decades watching tv as her major pastime and had passed a lot of time. The mother was no athlete, but needing something from the shop had meant walking there and she had kept her body active in other ways too. Subsequently despite the mother being long past retirement age she was still able to thread needles, make tea, walk upstairs etc. while the daughter could do none of these things without assitance.

Most of the things being reported as age related are proven to be at least 95% lifestyle with age being less than 5% in most cases. There are exceptions, like cataracts but others like obesity, heart conditions, joint issues, many forms of mental degeneration, impotence, most digestive disorders and so much more is more how you live your life than how long it has been.

I train to excess and love it. There is strong chance according to many that one day I will simply drop dead as many fitness obsessives do, and that's fine. I will have enjoyed an able and active life to the very end if that is true, and could want nothing more.

In my teens and twenties I watched those in thier thirties saying they were too old to do what I did. Now I am as close as makes no difference 40 the people in teir thirties don't use that excuse anymore simply laugh at themselves and their inabilty, or blame time etc. because working full time, assisting with home education and having a family I wouldn't know about time pressures.

If you are severely out of shape and want to improve, start steady and build up, this is true regardless of age. If there are health issues to be aware of and get guidance about, that is what doctors are paid for, agin age makes no difference, there are plenty of obese teens with high cholesterol now.

And if you are expecting to look 10 years younger with diet and exercise I may have some bad news for you. Neither will stop you going grey, bald, wrinkly or improve your fashion sense. These along with occasional slips like remembering when Michael Jackson had dark skin will catch you out every time.
I haven't worn well, the body is in pretty good shape, but no-one with working eyes would think I look 30 or even close to it. This means I get people thinking I am a fit old man as well as a crazy one, but this face fools no-one.

Yeah, that’s really true that you can hide your age by doing regular exercise and by eating healthy food. Daily exercise will keep the body fit and wrinkle free. Live without stress. Try to do all your work on time and by own self. Don’t depend on others to finish the work. Drink water a lot; eat fresh fruits and protein daily. Make a routine for workout and breakfast, lunch and dinner. After all these things you need to take proper bed rest also, which will help you to keep healthy and fresh.
