Well, I am new here and plan on getting fit for for the second half of my life.
I am 51 yrs old and have been fat as long as I remember. But 10 yrs ago, when I thought I was fat, I looked pretty good. I was only 155 lbs 10 yrs ago. I now top the scales as of yesterday 228-230 depending on which doctor's scales they used.
I just got out of the hospital yesterday with breathing related issues. I have now been a non smoker for 4 days. I quit on March first when I was admitted. It has been an eye opening experience.
Quitting smoking is a hard thing but since I have done it for 4 days I can do it. So that hurdle is crossed. I am not trading my cigarettes for a nic patch either. Cold turkey.. And what is odd, right now I don't miss them. My mind is made up. I will never smoke again.
My next hurdle is weight loss. I need to lose 100 lbs. Today I have bought 18 exercise dvd's. Turbo jam and P90x. I am going to do turbo jam until I get strong enough to do P90x. That is my goal. To do P90x.
I also have 3 acres. I have a trail around 1.5 of them so I plan on running/jogging/walking this path every day. My goal from this is to be able to run uphill to my mailbox .2 miles from my porch.
I am small boned under a lot of fat. I am 5'4" tall.
So those are my goals.
1-to complete the set of P90x tapes
2-to run to my mailbox 2/10th of a mile uphill over rocky 4-wheel drive territory.
I am giving myself a two yr time frame.
The first part of last year I lost 30 lb in 2 months doing taebo. so I have a lot of billy blanks tapes as well... He is awesome and this will be the first time to do him as a nonsmoker. I took a front view and side view of me today that I will post later.
And that's all for now....

before I can do them. I am going to concentrate on turbo jam first..
