My name is Ashley. I have been on this forum once before, but I wasn't serious enough at the time to lose weight. I recently bought a "babydoll", one of those sexy things that women wear, and it just looked absolutely horrible on me. I currently weight 210 pounds. I have set a goal to be 175 by the end of January. I need help, support and anything else anyone here can give me. I just know that I need to lose weight and I can't do it on my own. So please any advice on how I should get started will be much appreciated.

Welcome back Ashley.

Getting started is easy you can do anything from walking to riding a regular bike or a stationary bike and eating a whole lot better than what got you to your current weight.

Its lack of patience that I think keeps most people from reaching their goals who never do.

This forum is great for continued support and helps to see other people in the same boat you are which helps with keeping one's patience on this journey.

I'd advise you to stay here and if you haven't already start a diary.

I'll reply to it and others will too and we will help you in any way that we can.

hey girlie !

welcome back to the forums, hope you stay with us this time !

Indeed start up a diary, write an intro and some background info on yourself, thats always interesting to read :)

Good luck with the start of your weight loss journey !

KEEP SMILING ! :D

I'm new to the forum but I've been working on changing my way of eating for about 2 weeks now. What I've found works for me, in terms of discipline, is keeping a food diary. In fact, when I don't keep it, I really blow it and start eating all kinds of stuff I shouldn't. I'm watching carbs so I keep track of everything I put in my mouth, and I weigh every morning so I can see the progress. I can also see the result if I screw around and eat something I shouldn't.

I've had to stop thinking of my weight loss effort as a diet, because diets are temporary by nature. I've realized I have to just embrace a new way of eating that is healthier, and I have to be willing to do it from now on. Because that is the ONLY way I'm going to be able to reach the goal I've set, and avoid regaining whatever weight I lose.

Good luck to you :)

QFT!

I feel so lost without a food diary, where i can keep record of my eating habits, when/what i crave[junk fooood!], my workout routine, etc.
Its really helpful!
