Hey guys I am new out here but have been fighting with the fat for a little over a year. I lost over 50lbs but gained 20lbs of it back over the last 3 months so I am starting fresh tommorow morning.

I am going to use the walk away the lbs videos starting with 1 mile walk (although I prob wont be able to do the whole mile non stop I may have to take a couple little breaks and pause it andd start it up but I hope I don't.)

I am going to use the Bob Green Best Life Diet for my eating program

And I will be doing some weight lifting on Mon Wed and Fri

A light starters circuit I used the last time I got going till I get some of this weight off again. I am back up to 450lbs today and am emotionally crushed but ready to take action.

Looking for some input on the mis of these three things for more experienced members. (or anybody really :) ) Keep in mind I am 450lbs with bad everything lol so my mobility as far as legs and back go is very limited.

When I start walking I build up strength pretty quick though.

I don\'t really know myself but I just wanted to wish you good luck, maybe try the Harsh Truth section since there are pros in there. :) Again GOOD LUCK!

Hi,
Good luck, it seems daunting, but you can do it!

Things to try:
- MOVE MOVE MOVE. Clench your muscles while watching tv, engage your abdomen all day, walk around the house every ad break, dance, carry weights and use them when you're sitting down.
- DITCH THE SODA. I think some people could lose weight just by stopping drinking coke! (at 200cal/drink you save a lot of calories)
- get FIVE serves of vegetables and TWO serves of fruit every day, healthy eating should follow after you start exercising and getting used to good food.
- DITCH TAKEAWAY
- consider lap banding to give you a good start. You'll still have to make a lifestyle change, but it's important that you lose weight.

*** do what you were doing before to lose 50lbs!

I'm not a fan of surgery unless it's a last resort.

I agree, the weight has got to come off. However, I think finding a way to be consistent with your approach is what's important at this stage in the game. You have (or will have) more time in your schedule, right? Well this is the time to do it if you are ever going to!

As I said before, nutrition is going to be your primary vehicle to weight loss. I know you said you are going to ditch the fast food..... but that really is necessary. Start focusing on better foods:

Protein - chicken breast, pork tenderloin, fish, cottage cheese, eggs, lean beef, flank/top round steak, turkey breast, etc

Fats - fish, natural peanut butter, nuts, flax, fish oil, avocados

Carbs - whole wheat breads/pasta, whole wheat wraps, fruits, veggies, old fashioned oats, fat free yogurt

Counting calories will assure you that you are in a deficit. But if you are having a hard time counting, at the very least, pick a food from each category above for 4-6 meals per day and it should control your cals to a point.

In terms of exercise, for now, simply focus on doing 'something' every single day. Building up to a mile of walking is excellent. Throwing in some resistance training is icing on the cake.

Best of luck!

I think it sounds great!

Walking more and more as you build up strength and stamina, plus some weight training will really support your dietary changes. The weight will come off making the walking easier!

You CAN do this. I started walking as my main exercise (less than a mile a day) and am now up to 4 miles a day in just under an hour. Just started to add weights this week.

You'll do great!

Thanks everyone I have decided to put off the weight training for another week just so I can get an idea of what kind of weights I should be lifting. I cut out the fast food and without even counting cals this weekend dropped 3lbs. I got my walking in today but I did not use the tape. I know from before that a mile for me is 2475 steps so I am aiming for 2500 extra steps everyday this week. I am over half way there now for today and will hit it no prob.

I would never get surgery unless I was told there was no other way to acomplish the 200lb mark. I have had some success this year and learned a ton about nutrition and exercise, I just have not been applying that knowledge for the last 3 months. I am back on track though and ready to roll or stop rolling however you want to look at it :)
