I am in my best friends wedding on Sept. 20 the way I calculate it it's 65 days till the big day. I am the biggest girl and bought a dress per the bride sight unseen and it is an Halter dress. It is the biggest size and it zips all but about an inch and a half or so..What kind of weight can I truely lose in 65 days that this dress will zip and not pop and rip on me..I've never done this before so I have no clue what to do? I need some major advice,Please help me out,Thanks

Find a tailor and have the dress altered?

What are your current stats and what size do youneed to get to...

this is post 2 for you. I strongly suggest you reading the stickied threads in nutrition - exercise and on topic -= you might get some good ideas there as well

depending on how big you are and what you do to loose the weight. But you theoretically should be able to loose 1-2lb a week easily enough, more if you are severly overweight.

Read the sticky threads for more advice on where to go, what to do :)

since you sound like you are desperate for advice, and to save you some time, i'll copy and paste an answer i gave to another poster asking how to loose weight. sorry typing it out every time is making me feel a bit reduntant so here goes:

to loose fat you need to be in a calorie deficit. you can expect to loose 1-2 pounds a week. of course, the first couple of weeks you will loose the most because you would probably be cutting down a lot of the salt and thus not retaining as much water). open up an account at fitday.com and start tracking your food intake, NOT going over allowable calories DAILY. the key is to be consistent. if you have trouble finding certain foods on fitday.com then what i do is i usually search them on thedailyplate.com which has a bigger database. if you are consistent at tracking your food and staying within this calorie limit then results are inevitable. adding exercise to your routine would help speed up the process too, as you would be burning even more calories. every 10 pounds you loose, you will have to readjust to daily calorie intake accordingly. here is how to find out how many calories you can have daily yourself...

just head on over to this site:
- once you calculated your BMR write it down
- click on "daily calorie needs" right below the 'calculate BMR button'
- do the calculation on the page depending on how active you are, and this will give you the calories that you need to MAINTAIN your weight
- then take your maintenance calories and minus off 15 -20%, and this is what you should be eating to loose weight

you can find all this info right here on the site by reading all the stickied threads on top of the forums. i also find it helpful to read Steves posts which are very informative (all this info i am sharing with you, i received from reading his advice - and trust me its very effective i lost 20 pounds since late march)

to add, i lost probably around 8 pounds/month for the first couple of months - you may loose even more if you are bigger but i dont know your stats. i cant guarantee this will help you fit in the dress though so you may still need to get it tailored. what i proposed is more of a lifestyle change that you may consider continuing beyond the wedding date in order to become healthier

no problem. just glad its helping other people as well :) nothing ive said is new, its all from posts that have already been written but i can understand how it may be a bit hard to find especially when you dont know exactly what to search for

In 65 days you can lose a ton of weight, it should be no problem at all.

You already know what to do, its common sense... reduce calories eaten and increase calories burned. Stay committed, don't puss out.

Fitday can help keep track of what your intake is. Its a free site. I fyou use be honest in what you put down & keep in mind that what your servings are & what the product serviing sizes really are.

Wow.
That is great advise.

I encouraged that she could lose a ton. Did I need to give a specific number?
Ok: 27 lbs
