Hi everyone,
Well I have just graduated from university and my summer is upon me! As a result I know longer have an excessive amount of work left as an excuse for why I don’t go to the gym. Long story short is that I need to lose some serious weight, on the upside I know I can do it. Back when I started university (4 years went by fast) I weighed in at 320lbs, and let me tell you that’s not fun. Between barely being able to fit into the seats in the lecture theatres and having a hatred for all forms of stairs, I got really tired of being "the fat guy". Fortunately, two of my buddies convinced me to get into golf with them, and my weight loss started. Let me say walking on a very hilly 6.5km long (if you hit the ball in a straight line
) golf course with a golf bag strapped to your bag is not as easy as it seems. In any case the weight started to fall off, and kept coming off thanks to my active and outdoorsy summer job. Now, I am 21 years old, 6 feet tall and 245lbs (I was 235...this last semester was a bad one...I don’t even know where those ten pounds came from), and judging on past summers I can lose about 30lbs fairly easily. The only problem this year is that my job is inside, and about as inactive as you can get! I'm going to try to get out as much as possible, but I know that I am going to need to start hitting the gym. I want to get to about 200lbs this summer, and after taking a quick look around the forums I guess some HIIT and some weight training with an improved diet will get me started on the right track. I'll make a post later with what I eat (when I find out what I eat...) as well as a proposed workout scheme. As for why I want to lose the weight? To look and feel better and boost my confidence (additionally people treat you better the less fat you are...which is pretty sad because I'm the same person I always was). I'll try to post some pics too (look for them in the Men's pic section). Oh and one last thing, is it possible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time? I’m not talking about getting the physique of a Greek god or something, but just an improvement to my overall strength while losing weight.
Thanks for reading all of that

P.S. Any golfers in here?
