Hello all! My name is Julio i am 22, i live in Miami FL and I'm a *ahem* husky. I've always been a big guy and loved it! I love eating...I always have but it just got to a very unhealthy point that I couldn't even tie my shoes without breaking a sweat. January 13th I came in at 304 LBS being 5'7. I would look at myself in pictures and just be so unhappy so it was time for a change.
I felt really motivated as to drop all the weight and get a glimpse of what is under all these stored quarter pounders and extra cheese pizza's i was holding on to. I gave myself the SHOCK diet...Starving myself and having no energy whatsoever to work out. ( I did drop down to about 296 ish ), but not a good way to live. I met up with a old buddy of mine who recently finished his term in the Marines and decided to help me workout and control my diet. So we worked up a little routine / eating schedule to help me get started.
Monday ( 5AM ) - Breakfast - Whole grapefruit, follow by a 30 minute power walk. ( 8AM ) - Eat a banana and head into work, throughout the whole day i carry a bottle of water with me and stay hydrated. ( 12PM ) - Lunch time! I would usually cook up a salad no bigger than the palm of my hand with a few pieces of chicken breast, back to work! ( 3PM ) Generally here i would have a few slices of oranges or apples or baby carrots, few sticks of celery etc. ( 5:30 PM) Dinner! - now when it came to dinner i would really go light, I would usually boil 2 eggs take the yolk out and eat the white part. ( 7 PM) Gym time! I would always be a little nervous about the gym being self concious about my weight, I didint want people stare and say " oh look at that fat kid sweating so much looks so gross " but whatever it was all in my head ( I hope >_< ). After i came home i showered went to sleep and repeated for the next 5 months and counting!
My breakfast and lunch and little snacks inbetween always vary but i do try to keep it as healthy as i can, i let go of smoking cigarettes, drinking soda, and of course those delicious pizzas.
I am happy to say that as of today 06/10/10 I am weighing in at 243 LBS. I feel great i can actually jog without seeing little gold stars, or tie my shoes without having to stop mid bunny ears to catch my breath. In the beginning it was a little extreme for me being the type of guy that would just generally go out at around 4 am for a McFlurry run. The weight is shedding at a pace im very comftorable with and most importantly i can feel my stomach has shrunk tremendously... I eat alot slower and get full really quick. I'm getting some more attention from my peers " Hey wow you look great, what diet are you doing? " etc. I like to think that the worst part for me is over which was getting in the habit of keeping up the healthy eating and regular exercise but overall its just a great feeling in general, i feel happier, i dont get frustrated when i drop my pen on the floor!
I just found this website, i think its great to come and share your experiences with others... it really helps with the motivation. I myself love reading other peoples experiences and i am totally for giving that nice moral boost we all need every once in a while.
Keep up the great work every one! ( Sorry about my poor grammar, i tried! )
