Hey! I am so happy to have found this site! I really thrive on "public" accountability, so hopefully checking in here with some of you folks will help me to not cheat!

I'm 26, live in Florida with my husband, and own a dusty Wii Fit. I just renewed my gym membership, and have found that I can't just go in and hop on the treadmill for an hour as I had hoped... I'm at a half-hour now, but I'll work myself up to longer work outs soon!

Nice to meet you!

Hi plumpHope
I am new too and found this website this week. I live in Dublin Ireland have two kids. I have lost weight before and got my weight down to 8.5 stone but it has shot up now to 11.9 stone or 164 lbs. With the new year I have decided to start my diet and exercise again and I aim to be 8.5 stone or 9 by the summer.
I am following a low fat diet (which worked before ) and walking every day at least 40 mins and I have also a fitness dvd which I use. My son got the wii for christmas so I may have a go if he lets go of the controller long enough. He will be back to school this week.
I know what you mean about getting fit again you need to start back slowly.
Best of luck keep it up

Thanks! I like to think that I just have to lose this much weight (about 20lbs) 8 more times and I'll be back in the game! :ack2:

Update!

After week one of creating a new lifestyle, I am still on track!

Calorie counting everyday............... CHECK!
Exercising (at least) 4X per week...... CHECK!

If I disappear, and don't update that I continued to week 2... You can rest assured I tripped and fell under a pile of fried lard.

MOTIVATION = :piggy:

Thats a good start and as they say starting is the hardest, rest is easy :)

Is starting really the hardest part? God, that would be sweet... :willy_nilly:
Imo once you set your mind to losing and lose the first few pounds thats a great start. The more you lose the more it will spur you on. You will have times were you will want to quit but thats just human nature, hang on in there :)

Thanks!

Thanks for the additional welcomes! I really appreciate it! I'm kinda loopy and I really thrive on encouragement! :bigear:

I hope everyone is making themselves proud!

Plumphope, a new face welcoming you aboard...

please pay no attention to the avatar.... there is a story behind it... some other time...

I'm Karl, I'm a little loopy myself, I'm a pretty good guy and when I started this journey I had about 140 ish to drop.

you should really consider putting your thoughts, ruminations, accountability, rants, bizarre fantasies, whatever in the form of a diary under the diary heading... More people likely to look at it = more accountability...

feel free to visit mine also, but fair warning... I'm in the middle of a weight loss challenge and there is likely to be a circus like atmosphere in there at the moment with lots of T&A strangely enough...

Okay Karl now she thinks your completely nuts...

Anyway, I'll check on you here and there, good luck on your journey!

Ha!

Thanks for the additional welcome... You have quite a feminine caboose! :)

I do have a diary on here... Allow me to advertise for myself! I will put a link to it in my signature so others can be as thrilled with the inner-workings of my mind as I am!

I will check yours out as well.... I had noticed a plethora of T&A on the site, and was beginning to wonder if everyone here was actually a lingerie model... Good to know it's challenge related! :waving:

STILL ON THE WAGON! :willy_nilly:

I mean, OK... I have had 2 less than stellar calorie days, but none where I went over my BMR! So even if I ate more than someone in my predicament should, I still ended up with negative calories! And with 2 weeks down I have stuck to my goal and gone to the gym 4X each week!

They say if you do something for 6 weeks it becomes a habit (habbit? I'm not trying to be a nun...), so if I can make it through this next week, and then another, and then another, and then another... I will be over the hump!

I want to promise myself I'll still be here in a week! :piggy:
