I'll just ask my questions here too:

Ever heard of a THYROID?? Ever heard of Leptin or Adiponectin? Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone? Can you tell us how these systems work with regard to our metabolism? Please do educate us!
 
You want a solution? Here it is. If you are a woman eat no more than 2000 calories per day and if you are a man eat no more than 2500 calories per day. If you do that it will be IMPOSSIBLE to get fat.

If a man ate 2,500 calories per day, but laid in bed all day, having no physical activity what-so-ever, that man would get fat.

For the millionth time, you are wrong. It is NOT impossible to get fat if you only eat 2,500 calories per day.

I am proof. I eat on average far less than 2000 calories per day yet I am about 15 lbs overweight. I exercise at least 4 strenuous hours a week, plus at least 1 additional hour of walking. I have religiously counted calories, including weighing food, so there is no danger that I am counting the calories incorrectly.

BTW, do you have any studies or other evidence to back up your claims or do you just make this stuff up off of the top of your head?
 
I don't think this dude quite understands that 2,000 calories eatin by a female can still cause her to gain weight. If I ate 2,000calories I'd gain weight like mad.

If I ate 2,000 calories of junk food I'd gain weight.

If I ate 2,000 calories of healthy food, I'd gain weight.

All he yammers on about is so n so should however many calories. Sure, but he never says where they come from!

Indirectly fat people negatively impact upon society in many many ways and you know it. Maybe if you fessed up to that known reality you would develop enough of a social conscience to behave more responsibly when it comes to eating.

The sooner you admit you that your behaviors are the cause of your obesity the sooner you can change your behaviors and effect a cure. OR you can whine, cry foul, accuse me of demagoguery,:cuss: and toss out all the typical excuses:cuss: and phony moral outrage parroted by the obese:cuss: and the result will be that you will still be fat and further in denial.:banghead:

I'm a member of a WEIGHT LOSS FORUM. What exactly am I (or anybody else here) in denial of? I'm fat. I know I'm fat. I know that I need to change my lifestyle in order to lose weight. So, exactly what sort of excuses am I using?

You can't just walk up to somebody, call them a "big fatty", scold them on how much of a bad person they are and expect to actually HELP them. You are an overly arrogant, extremely uneducated, unrealistic know-it-all that has absolutely no fucking idea how to talk to people.

You must masturbate like 6 times a day, because there is no way in Hell that a woman would want to get anywhere near you.

If you are a normally active male weighing 261 pounds your resting resting (basal) metabolic rate is 2812 calories per day your typical daily activities burn 1406 calories per day making your total calories burned 4219 per day. If you are a female at 261 your resting (basal) metabolic rate: 2531 calories per day your typical daily activities burn 1265 calories per day. Total calories burned: 3797 per day.

This is fact, reality, science and the total truth. Insulting me will not change the laws of physics. You are probably eating in the 4000 calorie range. I call that gluttony. To gain huge amount of weight you have to be eating well above the 4000 calorie mark. That too is a FACT!

Paperairplanes, many of us on the forum know how to count calories and KNOW that their metabolisms are not working optimally and that weight gain is possible on less than 2000 calories a day. Sorry to all of those on here that feel it is impossible, and that I must be counting my calories wrong etc. Even scientists do not have all the answers, so how could "it" know it all?

I masturbate about once a week. I'm good at it too. But, unfortunately, it doesn't help me lose weight. It just reduces the amount of protein that's stored inside of my body.

Oh, and many people have already listed many reasons other than "taking in too many calories" that can lead to obesity. But, once again, it is your denial that keeps you from realizing that you are the one who is wrong.
 
My guess is A you were a fat kid growing up who got picked on and you lost the weight, now you hate fat people, because you hated yourself.

B) Your really a 400 lb man behind that screen who hates himself. Who tells others that they need to lose weight to make himself feel better.
