Obese Woman Hauled Away

ChefChiTown did you not read this part:

That aside, what I don't get is why the child's father let her watch them take her mother's body away. WTH was he thinking?

I don't see how the father/boyfriend didn't get help for her. How stupid is that?

Ah..it goes hand in hand, someone that is attracted to someone that is having difficulties to whichever extent that they are(such as the woman whom died) He is (an enabler) they both have what the other needs, so he would have "problems" as well. Weak ppl attract other weak ppl. It may sound cruel to say so, but it is what it is.

I would say that he is the type of person that was under a lot of stress/grieve, ect. Most likely was not thinking clearly. (hey, maybe he was) it just goes to show that it is not all that shocking of a situation of the BF letting the daughter watch this performance.

Anyways, how old is this little girl? 12-13? Children know a lot more of what is going on than what we give them credit for. I am not saying it was right of her to watch, VERY UPSETTING, the last straw to the camel's back. I hope she gets the help she WILL need.

I honestly believe that there are more people who are physically or mentally ill than there are truly healthy people. It is to the point that a truly healthy human being, both physically and mentally, is actually in the minority.

oh no derrick don't say that!!! thats a bit of a glass half empty thing to say...

i mean isn't that what we are all striving for?? some degree of balance & stability in our lives?? when you look at the world its sometimes hard not to see all the bad stuff thats going on...but the good always outweighs the bad. we bring our own perceptions/past/thoughts to the table with us...but there are many ppl out there who are able to lead healthy 'balanced' lives...

(notice i did not use the word 'normal'...not a word i particularly like...i have a son with autism who sees the world often in a totally different way from you or i...but hes not NOT normal...if you follow!! hes just different...)

Yes and it's shunned. We shouldn't talk about our mental-ness because we may offend someone... anyways

I think it's sad anyway you put it.

i have a fridge magnet that says....

1 in 4 ppl suffer mental health problems...
look at 3 friends if they seem ok...you're the one!!

hahaha....

like robin williams said...
“You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.”
i cherish mine!!! :D

i used to suffer with anxiety/panic attacks yrs ago & have had depression too....so out of my friends i've always known its me!!! i'm THE ONE!!! i accept that...but you can imagine how blummin relieved they are to be such close friends with me...then they're 'ok'!!! (witches) whatever LOL....anyway no ones 100% ok....we're all a little messed up somehow....some just hide it better than others...we can only strive to be/do the best we can...& help others along the way if we can...oh & be happy...even if you have to work at it GODDAMMIT!!! :smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5:

I honestly do not understand how one could allow herself to get to 750 pounds. Something should have been done at 400, or 500, or even 600! It's very sad :(

It's unfortunate that this method had to be used in the first place. We as a society should understand the growing rate of obesity, and should have the tools necessary to handle these types of situations.

Yes because by having tools to deal with super obese people is going to somehow cure the epidemic rather than educating and forcefully putting people into bootcamp where they have to learn better.

Yes there is some sarcasm in this post, but in all seriousness, you cant act innocent when you are over 500lb and still tell me that you dont have any clue how you got that fat. And you cant in all honesty tell me that you didnt choose to put the food in your mouth or get others to bring it to you.
yes its a battle to loose weight, but that doesnt make it ok to not give it a go, even a half hearted effort will have you maintaining your weight rather than gaining.

I'm not anti fat people at all, I am however anti-bullshit-excuses. Like being fat and somehow expecting to take up 2 plane seats without paying for the second, or blameing McDonalds for your own obesity etc. :)

But who is to say, that she wasnt trying... that she didn't die while trying...Yes, I agree 100% that we can not blame our obesity on anyone but ourselves. I put the food in my mouth, Ive eaten at Mc Donald's and I have also eaten until ive puked.. not a pretty site the last one, but the truth. I somehow have managed to put the breaks on at this weight (well, at over 350 pounds) and am slowly taking it off...but it is a huge battle that I do not win every day. I still binge, I still self abuse food... I still have the potential to eat until i puke. I can't give you a reason why i do... but when I am at that point I can't seem to stop myself. I have lived in shame about that my whole life. *because yes...that is how long its been going on)
I still feel, that when you get to be that size, it is far more that an issue of over eating.. its a mental condition, and it require some form of intervention by a doctor or counsellor, illness or death *which is one hell of an intervention)
You have done an AMAZING job of losing weight and regaining your health but not everyone is mentally or physically able to do that... that is NOT an excuse, its just an unfortunate fact.

I'm going to assume that some of the comments regarding this topic are purposefully ignorant for the original poster's own amusement.

Let me rephrase that: I'm going to assume that some of the comments regarding this topic are purposefully ignorant for the poster's own amusement.

Hm....guess if that's what you want to assume, that's up to you. I didn't find anything ignorant or amusing while looking through the thread, but we all see things differently I suppose.

I'm going to assume that some of the comments regarding this topic are purposefully ignorant for the original poster's own amusement.

What would make you assume that? Just out of curiousity...

Let me rephrase that: I'm going to assume that some of the comments regarding this topic are purposefully ignorant for the poster's own amusement.

So, all you do is say the same thing, over and over and over again? Why are you assuming that some of the comments in this thread are intentionally ignorant for someone's own amusement? Care to point out some examples? Or, are you ironically posting for your own amusement as well?

Can we please have more chat about what peoples thoughts are, and less chat about peoples opinions on their thoughts (which are starting to sound a lot like attacking people for having an opinion).
Alternatively please make sure your post is worded in a way that wont offend or be rude :)

Not sure who the last post is aimed at to be honest. Nobody was attacking anybody, nobody was being rude. Just asking for an example to understand what I_miss_me was actually talking about.

so glad you pointed that out chef...as i thought i was somehow missing something as the posts are exactly the same...some ppl do just post to get a reaction...having no apparent thoughts on the subject matter themselves...

san i'm assuming wishes was aiming that post at such ppl too...i mean why post just to be critical about what others have posted instead of having an opinion yourself??? anyway whatever....if i'm wrong who cares??? i lost another lb so yay me!! LOL :hurray::hurray::hurray:

just a very sad story all together. I mean really death is always very sad..... death is a very personal thing to the family so i suppose it would be devesating for there to be even more complications and drama while trying to remove a body. Its a sad sad thing. And chef is right... i mean dead "normal" sized people are zipped up in a plastic bag... so removing a body to be taken to the morgue is always the time when a very personal situation meet impersonal.

regarding burial... i wonder if maybe they are required or actually more so ENCOURAGED to do creamations at this point? just for the sake of cost. I know over all creamtion is cheaper than burials as is...

My posts were not identical. I thought my post was ill-phrased so I modified it to say "poster's own amusement" opposed to "original poster's own amusement", as I wasn't referring to the original poster of this thread, but instead to the poster of some of the comments I thought were particularly cold. I wasn't trying to be rude or smart. I thought I was clarifying my message...sorry.

I saw the difference in your two posts the first time I read them. I apologize if you think I was one who was trying to be amusing.
