Hi all!
I'm Paige, 26, sort of single (complicated, SO lives 8 hours away finishing college), have 2 mini-schnauzers that I consider my kids. I used to be a LOT heavier than I am now, but I still have a way to go.
In 2004, I started working at a company that had a medical scale in the break room. It occurred to me I had not weighed myself in years. So, I stepped on the scale. It read 192 pounds. I became terrified, that number was too close to 200 pounds, and at 5 ft tall I knew that was just too much weight.
I started South Beach and did really well, getting down to 148 pounds in 2006. My present to myself was a road bicycle. Problem is that eating South Beach (and approximately 1200-1300 cals) and cycling didn't really work out well and I developed severe anemia and (apparently) gall stones. Had gallbladder removed and with eating 'normal' foods, anemia has disappeared. But I've also put on a bit of weight, coming in at 162 pounds (as of last night).
So, one of the girls on a cycling forum recommended calorie counting and let me know of this place & here I am. I'm using Calorie King to monitor my calories and am excited to see where this goes.
