Not sure where to start.

So im not sure where to really start at when going to the gym. I know I am way over weight and out of shape, most of the weight is in my stomach, I dont have like huge arms with loose fat hanging off theme, my thighs are big, but again its not like i have kankles or anything its like all everything on my body is the correct size except my stomach, I need to work off the spare tire.

I just re-activated my membership to 24 hour fitness and plan on going a minimum of 4 times a week, but ideally i'd like to go every night.

Im just not sure what machines I should start on and for how long.

Also does anyone recommend any type of supplement or something I should pickup and take?

You don't need supplements... the only place they will help you lose is in your wallet...

Spend some time reading the stickied threads in the exercise forum, that will give you a good baseline of where to begin... do ask questions, in those threads of what you do not understand.

Hi, congrats on taking action to improve yourself. I lost a lot of weight a while back while I was going to the gym and while I'm sure there is a "right way" to exercise, I really just found that by doing a minimum of 20 minutes on the treadmill to get the cardio going and then using an alternating variety of weight lifting machines, specifically focusing on the stomach, chest, and arms worked well for me. Of course diet was a huge factor as well. I went los carb, but I don't recommend going too crazy with it. Just a healthy and balanced low carb diet. Also, try not to eat after 6 or 7 o clock at night. That alone can make a huge difference.

I also have to say, I disagree with the other comment about supplements. I think they can be a great help.

Thanks i figured I should start out on the treadmill to work the cardio, just wasnt sure on what types of things I should focus on that specifically target the stomach, and around the pec/underarm area.
